I agree with KadazanPL, though I would like to add a few more things: I'd go with the Ninja, instead of the Katana 3. I had the Katana 1, it's good, but the Ninja is better and not much more expensive. And a 12 cm fan IS very quiet. I havent heard a Kat3, but the first edition was actually quite noi...

This is a nice addition to the recommended fleet. I would never need more than 350 watts of power, so the extra $$$ on a fancy psu is a bit irritating. Well spoken :-) And thanks for a good review of a very interesting product. Hopefully, it'll soon be avaible around here, but that's another story.

I don't understand the need to overprice items in Europe. The 630 in the US is only 20% higher in price. Does this price include a VAT? VAT is included - meanwhile prices have changed, and now the difference is approx. 20%. - the 630 price have dropped :-) When some other AMD processors was introdu...

620 vs. 630, well, with the pricing where I live, it's an easy choise: The 630 is ~50% more expensive, and I wont pay that for 7% extra performance.

Anantech has a new tool which will allow you to compare the 4850e with the 910, which as close as you're going to get with their list of cpu's, which is pretty close. Can you please provide a link? I was on Anandtech.com, but couldnt find that tool... I'm also running a 4850e and for my purposes it...

Okay, I've had some progress: The blue screen codes, come sin two flavours, and one is definately dominating, the other apperas like 1 out of 10 times... The dominant one: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/137539 Because the above lean toward a hardware failure, I've ran a BIOS-mem test, no problems o...

A little google, gave this:

I'll try disabling the autoreboot, and find out what those codes are :-)

About the problem: 3-4 weeks ago, this machine started having problems with connecting to the wired LAN. It took very long time before it connected. It got more and more worse, and it started bluescreening some minutes after boot up. Now it wotn connect to the LAN at all, and it consequently blue sc...

I'm glad you found the noise source. Yeah, I've also found some harddrives actually sound like a spinning fan. I've also concluded that in my setup (P182) the HDD makes more noise if I have it in the lower chamber together with the PSU. I still have some investigation to do  Your observations...

Need admin password for Vista / bluescreen problems

Does Windows Vista comes with a built in default administrator user? I'm trying to get a friends Vista based Fujitsu-Siemens up and running - it blue screens a few minutes after boot. It's at least two different errors, which appear in random order. It runs fine in protected mode, and I'd like to ru...

Both S-Flex in the upper chamber are now excluded - I found out I could stop them, while my PC was closed and below the desk - didnt made any change in the sound. I suspect one of my harddrives is the problem. I vaguely recall, that I used one 80 gig drive for a while, and when I added the second on...

Though I do feel quite comfortable with english, I'm unsure what packing open-cell foam is? A link to a pic, would help :-) Same goes for high absorption (dense) foam :?:

Sorry... :-)

I think I got a resonance problem... suggestions?

The loudest components in my PC, is 3 S-Flex's at approx. 500 rpm. I thought that would be very nice - but it's still noisy. It sounds crazy, I guess, and I dont understand why it's still annoying... Problem: With case side panel off, my PC is very quiet. When panel is on, and the PC is under the de...

I've used C'n'Q for about a year, because I didnt want the hazzle with undervolting. But doing it this simple, is worth a try... Especially since I've started loading my CPU much more the last couple of months.

Thanks for sharing.

I'm really liking this thing. Since the voltage adjustments are relative, you can undervolt and keep C'n'Q working without the need for software solutions.
Very interesting, I really like that approach. Thanks for posting.

From what I've read here on SPCR, those online psu wattage calculators often are quite off... Probably you need even less. There's so much hype about PSU wattage... How much do you need? And never ever ask a salesperson about that  Have you tried calculating how much power the stuff on your shopping list actually draws? XBitLabs made some measurements recently. They werent able to push it higher than 503 watts... ...

You have to be realistic. Yes, a 5400RPM drive will be slower in some situations and I'm sure anyone who does deal with masses of 50MB photos will probably know that. The questioner was asking about general consumer level use though. In still in doubt of how much average seeks impact performance. C...

What to people consider "disk intensive applications"? I think of things like photo, audio and video editing, cad software, and current 3d games. Photo and audio editing isn't very disk intensive. I guess you havent tried converting 100 RAW files to JPG - or to TIFF, where each photo easily exceeds...
