The only significant comment I can make is that socket AM2 Athlons needs DDR2 800 RAM to keep pace with socket 939 Athlons of the same model using DDR 400 RAM. I believe it was Anandtech.com who wrote that article. Using DDR2 667 RAM will probably lower overall performance by 5%. Of course you can a...

Re: Wake On USB
How does Wake On USB work? I know that with Wake On Key (keyboard input) can either wait for a specified key or any key (depending on motherboard support), and Wake On LAN works by waiting for a specified packet, but what requirements are there for Wake On USB? How to Enable the Wake from Standby O...

Here's an article about the overheating issue with the 7900GTs . [quote] NVIDIA have specifically pointed a finger to the cause of the issues being associated with the overclocking settings that BFGTech, EVGA, and XFX use. NVIDIA firmly stands behind their stock core and memory clock specifications...

I'm hoping the Scythe Ninja can passively cool a non overclocked Conroe E6600. Understand, there is no customer experience with production Conroes yet. But if what has been printed can be believed, the Ninja will have no problem passively cooling a non-overclocked Conroe. Yep, that's why I'm hoping...

That's a TDP of 89w (Thermal Design Point) not the actual power consumption. Basically it is how hot the CPU can get (in terms of watts) and still function properly.dragmor wrote:
And the spec sheet of my 3500+ says 89w, but TCase says 36.4w. They are just setting themselves a limit. All samples will vary.

AMD will not be producing any AM2 or S939 Athlon 64 X2 CPUs with 2x1MB cache. Update: AMD To Ditch Initial AM2 2x1MB Cache Desktop CPUs They are streamlining thier production lines because of their announced price cuts. Re: Dell/Intel/Laptop gods, step in:
Does anyone know if a pentium M like the 533mhz fsb (the inspiron I believe takes 400fsb or 533fsb) will swap in? No. The Pentium M actually has 478 pin, but Intel calls it 479. The layout of the pins are different from that of the Pentium 4 so that you cannot simply drop in the Pentium M. Also the...
