Ordering from Amazon Germany is pretty painless and they have the Solo II.

Re: Want to help Corsair build the [quietest] case ever?
From my limited experience dust control is important! To that end, ALL openings into the case should be filtered or blocked off! Fan intakes should be filtered too. Open grills at the rear or on the side are a bad idea! My ideal case would combine: - 2 or 3x120mm front intake fans with filters. No g...

Re: MSI 270x HAWK - a silent gpu for gamers
The gaming edition R9 270X fits in the Antec Solo if anyone is interested. There's roughly a 2-3mm gap from then end of the card to drive cage. http://i.imgur.com/utTHHIx.jpg Just to confirm you were able to get the below 260mm card in the original Antec Solo!? http://www.msi.com/product/vga/R9-270...

Re: Stock nvidia 670 cooler observations
Thanks for the reply. I am not limited to blower designs - my current 6850 is an open fan design and all fans in my case can ramp up to ~1,500rpm if needed. I am limited by my case and PSU. The Antec Solo will only allow cards as wide as an ATX motherboard. The Antec NeoHE only has 2x6 pin PCIE lead...

Stock nvidia 670 cooler observations
Hey all, Long time since I have felt the need to post, as I am very happy with the noise and performance of my PC in general. However gaming performance could use a boost for ArmA 3... nvidia 670s are still relatively cheap if you know where to look, but I would be limited to the stock cooler versio...

Re: I give you the ANTEC SOLO II
As a very happy owner of the original Solo, I am impressed by the Solo II. 2x120mm fans at the front is awesome, and I like the PSU on top with it's own intake. That completely removes it from the rest of the system. Even replacing the PSU would be easy with the removable brace. Add the ability to u...

Re: AMD & Asus DirectCU Radeon HD 6850 Graphics Cards
I think I just ordered one of these from Scan in the UK for the princely sum of £84 all in. Looking forward to some increased performance, along with lower idle power consumption than my 4770. Ideally wanted a 7770 or a 7850. However the 7770 suffers from poor performance per £ at present, and I bel...

Re: Seagate 7200.11 320GB single platter (ST3320613AS)
Have been using this drive flawlessly and have been very happy with its performance and lack of noise since April 2008, but it may have failed this morning whilst I was downloading Dirt 2 from Steam. Got a message saying Steam had caused an error and needed to be shut down. That couldn't happen with...

Computer Hardware Stores in Orlando?
Hey Guys,
I'm heading out to Florida shortly for a couple of weeks, and will be spending a couple of days in Orlando. I'm interested in getting a SSD and a new graphics card if I can find anywhere with reasonable prices. Does anyone know some decent stores in the area?
Cheers

The Antec Solo would be the best case for this build. It's what I have my stuff within. Also be aware that the 4890 is very, very loud. Mine is away for RMA at the moment, but when I had it with the stock cooler, it was by far and away the loudest thing at idle and under load. It's also extremely ho...

They look good! However, I have just received a Zalman ZM-RHS90: http://www.zalman.co.kr/ENG/product/Product_Read.asp?idx=352 I'm not 100% as to whether it will fit in conjunction with the Accelero, but I'll give it a go next week, as I am away for the weekend. If it doesn't then I will certainly ge...

The ZM-RHS90 is 23mm tall http://www.zalman.co.kr/ENG/product/Product_Read.asp?idx=352 The Accelero S1 rev2 only has 16.5mm of clearance in the area where the heatsink would go: http://www.arctic-cooling.com/catalog/images/height_restriction_drawing_AcceleroS1_r2.pdf I'm not sure if the Accelero's f...

The Thermalright VRM cooler can't come soon enough. I tried disposing of the rubber band to fit some zip ties, but because the VRMs are so small, the VRM heatsink was knocked out of balance and wasn't making good contact. The rubber band remains... However, I have disposed of the Arctic Cooling Tur...

Yep , that does look like the best option out there when it is eventually released. Zalman also have a solution, but it is no way near in sophistication and I don't think it would be compatible with an Accelero: http://www.techpowerup.com/97201/Zalman_Intros_ZM-RHS90_VRM_Heatsink_for_Radeon_HD_4890_...

Right, S1 fitted. To be honest it has been a right pain. However, it is much, much quieter than the stock cooler. The main issue has been cooling the VRMs. My current solution is the Accelero VRM heatsink with the screw hole pieces hacksawed off. This heatsink is then attached to the VRMs with doubl...

Lovely build, but I've a couple of suggestions. How about turning the PSU upside down, so it only receives filtered air from the case and adding a Scythe Kama bay? That would further increase the amount of air being forced into the case, and with a ~800rpm fan shouldn't increase the base amount of n...
