Re: Radeon 7970 aftermarket compatibility?
I purchased the 7970 the first day it was available. Hence why I got a reference card. As for cards with non reference coolers they usually vary alot and it's hard to gather information on which ones have good vrm cooling. (i.e. http://joinpgn.com/hardware/cooling/03262012703-arctic-accelero-xtreme-...

Re: Radeon 7970 aftermarket compatibility?
I got tired of waiting for Thermalright or Other solutions. I had taken the cooler apart to see if I could modify the stock cooler and replace the radial fan with a 120mm case fan but it would have been alot of work. So I caved and ordered an xtreme 7970. (only store at the time in Canada was memory...

Re: I give you the ANTEC SOLO II
I'm glad they kept the PSU on top and added a vent.
Will probably get this case then remove the 3.5" drive bay and separate the main board area from the PSU and 5.25" bays. Kind of like the 3480.

As requested here are shots of messy part of the build haha. I tried keeping them hidden but I guess they have to be shown. Thanks For the comments! Since the major concern from the responses are about GPU temp I've ran a quick test running Battlefield Bad Company 2. (the only game installed at the moment lol). I tested DX11 high and DX9 low because I always play low settings and wanted to make sure I was stressing the 5...

Druneau's NSK3480 i5/HR-02 Build
Hello, I've been lurking the forum for a while, figured it was time I posted something that might be useful to someone. This build started in June when I purchased an NSK3480 with plans to lightly modify for silence. I reused most of my hardware and only needed to purchase CPU/MOBO/RAM/COOLER. Here ...

I'm pretty much in the same boat as you. I want to cool my i5 760 using rear case fan only. From looking around I settled on the Thermalright HR-02. It should cool very well once it's actually release lol. From what I can tell it should be available by the end of the month. http://www.thermalright.c...

HR-01 PLUS: 33 fins. HR-02: 45 fins. If the fin thickness and the total fin height is the same, then the spacing is 2.17 mm. I think they should have stayed at 33 fins. It seems they listened to you lol... the pictures on their website show 32 fins! http://www.thermalright.com/new_a_page/product_pa...

Yes the RPM display matches the correct RPM of the fan. So if you know the fan you've plugged in normaly runs at 1200rpm@12v, then setting the rpm to 1200 on the controller will get you close to 12v. And yes again, alot of bleeding from the display segments at anything but 0 degree horizontal and ve...

Slow fans running at minimum voltage will drop the tach signal out of the monitor's reach. This is pretty much what I was thinking, the tachometer signal was either to weak or not uniform and the unit could not pick it up. Seems like the power monitoring is working fine too. I'm pretty intrigued by...

The temperature sensors are hooked up.. and that's about it :D . They are still bundled together in the case right behind the top intake fan (under the controller) You're right, I don't have any fans hooked into the motherboard. (although I'm thinking of splicing the fan's RPM sensors and hooking th...

I purchased it from www.NCIX.com. It was more of an "order and wait" kind of purchase. I had almost forgotten about it then it showed up at my door. I'll post some pictures of the unit running tonight. I've only had it for three days now, but I like it. My biggest problem with it are the viewing ang...

While I haven't seen a review of the product I own the MFC1 (non plus) and the MFC2. What I think they are trying to say (I find they aren't very good at explaining their products) is that cables C1 have a cable which can be plugged in the motherboard header so that the computer can monitor the RPM'...
