a couple of my fans came in broken.. and its impossible trying to contact and get a replacement... one of the fans were so bad that the blades and the whole fan motor was separate from the outer frame. to make it worse, one of the 92mm fans that i ordered doesnt like to spin up, or when it does, it ...

well i dont plan to have more than 4 drives. but i will be using 2 500gb spinpoints in the system for now. possibly upgrading to larger drives when technology becomes cheaper. I thought about the server idea, but im not so sure if the energy costs associated with it would be enough to justify having...

I think the AB9 bios problems only were for the earlier boards. Jedster - you were able to fit the si-128 in your case without it hitting the top? i have a LC16, but i believe the cases are the same internally. I ended up buying an XP-120 for this reason. Im just hoping everything fits now. any part...

New HTPC - Critique
So i finished picking out parts and ordered everything in my sig. However, im worried about how loud my system will be. Theres no room really to do any fancy suspension for the hard drives, but i think i may try to use grommets on all the screw holes for the drives and possibly the dvd drive as well...

actually now that i think about it.. the nonhardening clay may just do the trick... the way i think, it may just add enough density so that the metal doesnt resonate with the fan rpm frequency... what do you guys think? i use the same block of clay in the car where temperatures reach extremes, so it...

hmm i think im goign to try the xp120 since its only 60mm tall plus fan which is only 85ish. so it should clear fine. hopefully it clears everything else... if i did get the SI-128.. it would only leave 20mm above the fan about. which probably isnt a good idea.... who knew picking a cooler was so co...

i think i remember all the scythes were mostly too tall. how much space should be in front of a fan for it to be effective? i also contemplated modding the case to fit a 120mm fan on the side adjacent to the two stock 80mm fans. Perhaps blowing in and using the silverstone cooler that has the heatpi...

Quiet HSF combo under 140-150mm tall?
Alright, i have a Silverstone LC16 Case, and i recently purchased an Intel 6600. Im still in the process of finalizing my system, but i think i narrowed down my motherboards to asus boards p5n32 premium or p5b deluxe. I would like to keep the noise down as much as possible, since it is a HTPC. I was...
