Re: What reasons *not* to use Antec solo?
I see. I was not aware of the degree to which larger fans had replaced smaller ones in general. Since I already have this case (Solo), and since 92mm fans are still available at this time, assuming the use of a fan controller, PWM header, or volt mod, how do two 92mm fans compare to a single 120mm f...

Re: Silent cell 5770 in Antec solo heat danger?
I actually mean centimeters, that is from judging without using any measuring tools though. I am sorry, I thought you were answering a different question: Hi, So it's plastic not foam, how thick is it? I thought 1cm+ of material would be quite a change from my own case! I do remember seeing a pictu...

Re: 92mm PWM intake fans
Thanks for the recommendation. Those are much less expensive than a few of the other fans I was looking at. How long have you been using them? I wouldn't like it if the die within a year, even if they have a warranty. I am not sure that I need intake fans, but I am about to put much higher wattage i...

Re: What reasons *not* to use Antec solo?
The Solo is still my favorite mid-tower case. The only changes I would make (now) is to eliminate the front-to-backstabilizing bar which makes PSU in/out a pain, and make a single 120mm fan mount for the front. Both are trivial quibbles. Why change the (2) 92mm to (1) 120mm fan? I thought I read (h...

92mm PWM intake fans
I may be in need of two 92mm intake fans with PWM control (4-pin header). These would be for an Antec Solo case.

Re: The "7V trick" on fans with adjustable voltage - RPM gon
On the IP35 Pro, all the fans can be run down to 6 volts, but it requires a trick. You cannot do this through BIOS; you must use the μGuru Windows utility. Go to Setup, Fan EQ, and then select the fan header. Check "FanEQ Enable" if it is not already, and then click "Optimize." The software will sp...

I believe this isn't the only forum that will tell you that newegg reviews are totally useless, For measures of quietness (granted), or everything? When I built my current PC in 2002/2003, I thought the NewEgg reviews were considered at least somewhat valuable. It is a shame if that has changed, or...

This drive (ST3250410AS) has very high ratings at NewEgg: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?item=N82E16822148262 There are several comments about it being very quiet. Has Seagate soured all of you to the point that no one is trying this drive? Are these reviewers simply too accustomed to noi...

Re: 4 questions on near-silent PC build!
Why that particular motherboard? I happen to have that exact one, but I didn't need firewire. If you need firewire, there are a number of comparable boards that have it built-in. Two in particular that you should consider are the Abit IP35 Pro for the excellent fan controllers. Also, will you have ...

How do the 120x38mm Panaflo's compare?
Hello SPCR, this is my first post.
I have a medium speed Panaflo 120x38mm fan. At one time this was considered quiet, at least for the CFM, and it has good flow vs pressure. How do the new fans compare to this old standard?
