Re: Best silent case to choose from?
Are you planning on using a mechanical hard drive? If yes, go with the Be Quiet! because it looks to have the most vibration dampening for HDD. Are you planning to have many case fans? If yes, go with the Fractal Design Define R5 because it looks like it has the least restrictive fan grills/air path...

Re: Anidees AI6BS - The Lesser Known Silent ATX Case
Good looking case, maybe little too big for what you have inside. I'm hoping it will hold my upcoming Z170 ATX build. I'm also planning on adding a few HDD down the road so the extra 3.5" spaces are going to be superb. My old Antec NSK3480 was simply holding me back too much! Thanks a lot for shari...

Anidees AI6BS - The Lesser Known Silent ATX Case
Update to my old topic: http://www.silentpcreview.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=14&t=50916 I've made a few upgrades to my system while I wait to jump onto Skylake during Christmas. I managed to get a good deal on the Anidees AI6BS ($70) and the EVGA SuperNOVA 650 GS ($85). Overall, I'm very satisfied ...

Nice review, but I would totally avoid this case just because of its HDD case (avoidable if you're only planning on using SSDs).

Re: FT05 Build Ruined By Spinning Disk
But i find it kind of odd, people spending a bumload of $ on silent fans, case and oc cpu, but then skip the few dollars to buy a new 2.5 HDD or even a 3.5 Green. Moreover as the old HDD has a mere 1Tb of capacity. Even a WD Green makes quite a bit of noise (seek noise) without proper dampening. Th...

Re: Quiet ATX Gamer, R5 Version
We already report on the HDD tray/cage & mechanical aspects of the cse for their likely vibration resistance. We also install at least one and often more drives that are noisier than the ones we'd use ourselves, just to check on the noise. This is enough. You can extrapolate from our findings if yo...

Re: Quiet ATX Gamer, R5 Version
I dunno if I would call the R4 HDD damping particularly bad. Most are not very good. R5 did seem better, but if you're planning to use lots of HDDs with the system in close proximity, be prepared to mod. That's just par for the course. Personally, because I rarely use stock HDD mounting, it hardly ...

Re: Quiet ATX Gamer, R5 Version
Any comments on how well/bad the hard drive trays of the Define R5 dampen idle/seek noise of HDD? It seemed especially bad with the Define R4 (in the SPCR's Quiet ATX Gaming Build Guide), but does the Define R5 do a better job here?

A step down in quality from the previous P cases, but for the price it's an excellent case.

Re: Full passe / fanless >250W workstation: It's possible!!!
why do you have sound absorbing material if there are no moving parts? Only because it have no moving parts by desing, it doesn't have to be the reality. The coils on the MoBo are virbrating a liite bit and I can't reach them to mold them properly. But with the aborbing material I can't hear it any...

Re: Be Quiet! Silent Base 800 ATX Tower
Excellent review. Mildly disappointed with the results. I will have to re-consider my choice of a silent case and might go back to the Define R5, although I still suspect that the Silent Base 800 has superior anti-vibration HDD mounting. I also wonder how the Silent Base would perform if the two top...

Re: Need advice for a compact mATX case
I really don't like a bottom mounted PSU though because needing to keep the underside clear of dust. I wouldn't worry too much about that - most cases (I believe all the ones you've listed) have a PSU dust filter installed that can be easily removed for cleaning. Cube cases? I haven't looked at the...

Re: Need advice for a compact mATX case
From what you've listed, I'd go with either the Fractal Core 1300 & 1500. The front panel should block sound from leaking out. The hard drive caddies should muffle out most of the vibration, which will be important if you're planning on using mechanical hard drives. Power supply is also bottom-mount...

Has anyone gotten their hands on an Aerocool DS-Cube? The rubber on the hard drive rails is underwhelming, but the case offers a nice amount of features for its size, including a large intake fan and a top-panel cover. It's also nice how the case comes in a variety of colours. http://www.aerocool.us...

Re: Silverstone FT02 build
I was happy with how build looks, but as for cooling performance.. It doesn't work that well, if bottom 180mm fans are set to very low rpm (minimum to be quiet). Then they don't push the air through the case, only work as gentle intake. That means a lot of hot air gets stuck in the upper area of th...

Has anyone on SPCR gotten their hands on the Silent Base 800?
The case has nice styling and its price is superb when you factor in the cost of the 3 fans.
Both the silicone hard drive rails and the top panel vents (without leaking too much noise) look good too.

Re: Antec NSK3480 with Noctua NH-U12P
I suspect that I will have to change case since the power supply is too long (in depth) to have a DVD drive installed. It's more than a suspect, it's certain: not only for the DVD drive, but also for cables cut-outs, because with a modular 160mm PSU you won't be able to drive the cable outside the ...
