Actually I think it is different. The Ahanix version has the pump right on the CPU block. This one has a separate pump in a reservoir.

Ahanix Poseidon

I was looking around the Ahanix site and came across this thing
http://www.ahanix.com/poseidon.html

Its a water cooling system with only about 4 parts. What I love about it, is its simplicity. With this, there is almost no excuse to not have a watercooling setup.

lol, I'd love one, but the price is way too high.
Also I'd imagine that someone would get the Silentmaxx one first. So long as it performs as well, it seems to be the same case for less money.

The Lian Li site says mid May availability. But actual North American availability could be much later. The link that halcyon posted shows the 1200 in black, I wonder if the 1100 will be available in black..? Also its interesting that in all of the shots for the 1000/1200/2000 on LL's site they show...

The board layout and especialy memory location and orientation looks similar to the Matrox Parhelia.

There sure are a lot of screw holes on the board... Perhaps those white lines are outlines for heatsinks and fan assemblys.

Overall I like my new Samsung. The idle noise is much much lower than my old drive (WD 40GB), but sadly the seek noise seems to have become about twice as loud.

Wow I love the V1100. It looks a lot like the PC6070 but solves the airflow issues. Too bad it will still be a long time before I would be able to use them and the BTX/SATA componenets they are designed for.

I have a new Samsung 160 and I have had no problems so far. (*knocks on wood*) Overall I am happy with this drive, the idle whine is at least half as loud as the idle whine of my previous drive. But the seeks seem to be just about twice as loud... Odd, but not that big of a deal since I should easil...

And for good reason, IMHO. As should most of the people who bought the garbage 75GXP IBM drives. Come on man.. That problem could have happened to any one of the big HD manufacturers. The real problem there was that they dealt with the problem very very poorly. But IBM isn't even making this drive,...

Oh sorry, yeah its the GUI that is installed on both. On my machine I am going to switch to the CLI version, but for the other one the GUI is ideal because it can be minimised to the sys-tray and hidden out of the users way.

Yes the fullscreen problem is only while F@H is running.

Odd Client problem

I just installed the client on two different machines. On one its running perfectly, but on the other I have 2 problems. The first is that while it's running and I try to run some programs in fullscreen mode, I get kicked back to the desktop. The second is that for some reason the text colour on the...

A new way to cool with sound.

http://www.reed-electronics.com/ednmag/article/CA376646?stt=000&industryid=22043&nid=2311 Thermal management can cause even the coolest designer to sweat. As ICs get denser and products get smaller and more power-conscious, traditional techniques based on fans and metallic heat sinks may be insuffic...

I don't know. For me I think I will do both suspension and an enclosure since I'm looking for the largest reduction in noise that is possible.

Anyone know if there is a North American retailer for those Fek-Pro enclosures?

3 pin fan connectors?

I am looking to buy some panaflo fans from Digi-Key . Problem is that they come with unfinished ends. So I've been searching the digi-site all night looking for the "3 pin connector" that I need and the little metal contacts that attached to the wire. Anyone know the real name for these parts, or ev...
