id also like to add that the 9800 is not actually worthy of its 9 series name as the chip and memory are the same as the 8800gts only with this longer card theres better cooling provided which can support the higher clock/mem speeds. its a bit of a cheat by nvidia and as a long time nvidia user im a...

Have you connected 4pin +12V CPU power cable? I've heard and seen numerous cases, when this cable is not connected at all or is not connected properly. On one system PSU had 4pin connectors like CPU1 and CPU2 (joinable into 8pin CPU power connector) - I did connect CPU2, exactly same symptoms. CPU1...

toms says they are very loud and drink way more watts than they should for the increase in performance.

the 8800GT is far better efficiency and the quietest out of the current top of the line cards., and of course half the price of the 9800GTX.

after hammering tomshardware.com in regards to the 9800GTX i have decided that im just going to opt for a single 8800GT for the time being (as its under £100 atm) and just upgrade when nvidia sort their stuff out and build a decent 9 series.

why don't you pick a 9800gtx? better ans cheaper not in the uk it isnt, theres a few deals for the 8800GTX atm ive been tempted to get two 8800GTs but that would mean an extra fan so im just gunna opt for a single faster one (also remeber im going to use a zlaman mod and i dotn think they have one ...

With so many to choose from at the moment i really am totally lost! I will be building a new rig soon with parts like a Q6600 CPU and a 8800GTX, so my system will get hot and must be large enough to accommodate the length of the graphics card (its a whooper!). Keeping all this tasty parts quiet i wi...
