Hello guys. I discovered suddenly that meters under Energenie brand are made actually by ... Gembird Electronics Ltd . Not so noble manufacturer to be honest, but issues pretty usable quality. I still have no reason to blame my meter. Found my ENER007 and more recent one meter on youtube , maybe wil...

Thank you so much for quick replies! From the theory, yes, it's possible, http://www.overclockers.ru/images/news/2007/03/19/am3_01.gif but the practice... ... So, what options now I got: 1) I can write to ECS staff (though I don't really expect positive response about AM3 support) 2) I can buy a CPU...

Will it work -- AM3 CPU on AM2 board (690G)?
Hi everyone at SPCR! )
It happed so that I own now an old 690G board (ECS 690G), and I want to get it work.
But, the question is -- what the most modern CPU I can use on it?
Will these work?
1) AMD Sempron 140 (2700 MHz), AM3
2) AMD Athlon II X2 Dual-Core 240 (2800 MHz), AM3
Thanks in advance!

Re: 220V alternative to Kill-a-Watt Power Energy Meter
MoJo Can't put my hands on ADE7755 yet. ... Oh, a banal idea came into my mind! Concerning under 1-1,5W load measure. It seems that lower operating limit of such devices can be extended simply by adding a known extra load (small, 2-5W), by connect a 10 kOhm resistor e.g., and it will result in 2W p...

It seems that IC is ADE7755 over there on your photo. Nice one. Prodigit uses only PIC+OpAmp.

My irremovable SyncMaster 910T (19" 5:4 Samsung PVA) uses from 25 watt (comfortable) to 30 (maximum brightness). Not so bad for a 2005 year model.

Re: Question about improving AC/DC efficiency
Once PSU reach a threshold of say 95% AC-DC do they still need to be fan cooled ? It depends on the withdrawing power (how much you are taking from PSU). E.g. big interregional transformers (ore ones at hydropower plants) supplying hundred kilovolts lines have the efficiency of 99-99,5%, but that 1...

Is it so irritating? Are they so many? Don't they deserve some negligible paying back?

Re: 220V alternative to Kill-a-Watt Power Energy Meter
An article describing how to recalibrate the meter to measure small quantities of current, e.g. ten times lower. The meter's maximum admissable load rate decreases proportionally, but that's still bearable issue. It's Brennenstuhl' PM230 on the photo, but Kill-a-Watt has the similar element (curren...

Re: Question about improving AC/DC efficiency
First, the efficiency was not so important in those days, so not many people that might be thinking of circuit solutions were involved in this area -- results in bad schematics. Secondly, there was no good component base -- no high frequency semiconductors, ferrite inductors, capacitors. What can yo...

My system with 5670 is AC 50W idle, and w/o 5670 is AC 36W. Thus the presence of this card makes consumption to be 14W higher. Measured with euro-Kill-a-Watt.

Why is it that the UK versions need batteries? The Japanese and US versions are powered from the mains which seems obvious. It must have something to do with safety. Batteries? Sometimes you can't plug this thing into overpopulated socket set, or can't rich its buttons, or see screen readings, so I desided to attach a power cord to it. And a socket on cord for the output too, cause I couldn't find a small Schuko socket to integrate it into the case. http://img710.imageshac...

Go on! ) Air blow from the outside should be slightly warm, then it's OK. Make sure the fan starts firmly on low voltage. If it doesn't -- you take risk )
But I think it's better to buy a 120mm fan equipped PSU.
