Well my 4670 came in yesterday and I love it. WoW settings all at max and I'm raking in anywhere from 20-40fps mostly hovering at 30 but will dip to 20 sometimes and will go up to 40 other times. Couldn't love it more. I'll do some fooling around with the ATI Overdrive but for now it's great. (also,...

I want to count out the SilenX as well. It looks crappy and doesn't even fully enclose the drive.

Ya I have looked at the smart drive, but it is so expensive...I mean 60 bucks? That's like what I paid for the hard drive itself. I'm ruling out the Logisys, it doesn't have as much foam as the other silencers. http://techgage.com/article/logisys_aluminum_hdd_silencer/1 And if you look at some pics ...

I can only find it on 3 websites. 1 website is sold out, the other one is offering it at 40 dollars and 14 dollar shipping and that is the cheapest shipping available! As for scythe-usa.com I click on the buy now button (it's 40 dollars, I would like to see what shipping is like) and the site does n...

It's been a while, but I did the fan transplant, went great, no complaints. The rubber anti-vibration mounts were a little complicated to get working, but that is probably because I just have never used them before. All in all I probably did the whole thing in less than 20 minutes, and the results a...

Best hard drive enclosure option
OK. So I got my new Western Digital 640GB Caviar Blue in the mail today, and it isn't as quiet as I was hoping. When I had my system on without any hard drive plugged in, I plugged in a harddrive and heard it spin up. I thought "Whoah, I didn't know my PC was on!" Turns out it was, that is how quiet...

Well what are my options for a card with a fan? I mean, how loud are the fans?
This card

Is cheaper than my original card and performs better...but I'm concerned about the fans...how loud are they?

Ya, but look at it like this, the max power from 1 usb port is 500ma if I am correct. So that's 5 * .5 = 2.5W If you step up 5v to 12v, assuming you can get 100% efficiency, you get only 203ma. Now I don't know about the current draw of that Arctic Cooling fan, but I just picked up a spare ADDA 120m...

I have the 400W, and it's decently quiet, however, it ended up being the loudest thing in my system. My Arctic Cooling 64 Pro at 1000rpm I can't hear even with every other noise generating thing in my system turned off, and my hard drive, well, it's loud, but I can't explain it, it makes a different...

Black? Blue? Green? I want to get a new hard drive, this will by the only hard drive in my system so it can't be some slow piece of crap (Green is the slowest) but it can't be some loud mofo (Black?) So in your opinions which one should I go for? I have pretty much confirmed that they all are quiete...

Random access time is very important for a system drive. I would not recommend a slow rotating drive for that use. Ideal is a VelociRaptor or better yet a good SSD for a system drive, and a slower big HDD (WD GP being my favorite) for storage. Well first off I don't have the type of cash to throw d...
