Re: HTPC spec - A6-5400k or i3-3220?

Hi, I have a bit of dilemma, I am looking at a new htpc and I have found that both the A6-5400k and i3-3220 come out at the same costs as each other! This is due to the m-itx motherboards being so expensive for the AMD route. I watch 1080p 10bit h264 which requires cpu so am I correct thinking the ...

Re: 65W TDP A10-5700 review

They tested the A10-5800K and the A10-5700 with an A75 based motherboard which uses a 6 phase VRM: http://hexus.net/tech/reviews/mainboard/47777-asrock-fm2a75-pro4-m/?page=8 Power consumption dropped by 1W at idle, and around 5W under CPU and 3D load for the A10-5700. I would expect power consumption...

Re: 65W TDP A10-5700 review

They tested the Intel Processors on a z77 motherboard which is not a very power efficient chipset. I have no doubt if they had used an H67, H77, or H75 the Core I3 would have had lower idle power consumption. I find that with systems with very low power consumption the motherboard choice has a bigg...

Re: 65W TDP A10-5700 review

At least in the UK the A10-5700 seems easily available and is actually slightly cheaper than a A10-5800K.

65W TDP A10-5700 review

For the reduction in power consumption and TDP,the performance difference is not massive when compared to the A10-5800K:

Idle power consumption is better than even a Core i3 3225 and the IGP has much better performance/watt.

Need advice in modifying a Dell DA-2 to work with a pico-PSU

I am using a pico-PSU 150-XT and noticed people recommending the Dell DA-2 to be used with it. However, the Dell has a non-standard power connector. However,I read on another forum that some managed to use an 8 pin female to 4 pin male ATX connector successfully: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/8-pin-Femal...

Re: 220V alternative to Kill-a-Watt Power Energy Meter

I am looking at getting a power meter to measure the power consumption of my computer. Maplins seem to sell this one: http://www.maplin.co.uk/plug-in-electricity-cost-and-usage-calculator-223573 There are also these meters: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Energenie-ENER007-Power-Meter/dp/B003ELLGDC/ref=sr_1...

Sharkoon Silent Eagle 2000 vs Silent Eagle SE vs Noctua NF-R

Hi everyone!! :) I currently have a modified ICE cooler in my Shuttle SD37P2. I use a 92mm Noctua fan and an 80mm Sharkoon Silent Eagle 2000 in a push-pull arrangement. I am thinking of replacing the Sharkoon fan with either a Noctua NF-R8 or Silent Eagle SE 80mm fan. I am looking for a fan which ha...
