Re: Which 5770?
I think this all makes the silent cell a good choice. I just ordered it. I word on multimonitor setups: I have been using two monitors as soon as Windows 98 allowed it. about a year ago I decided that I could benefit from a third monitor. IT's nice but not as useful as I expected. also it has really...

we dont know what kind of system op is even considering though, just what the pros and cons are with atx vs matx. My question really had more to do with cases. The mATX boards had more than enough features for me. To be honest there are ITX boards out there with enough features. What was missing wa...

Re: Which 5770?
-->Are one or two slow moving intake fans enough to cool a 5770?<-- Well, your condition is 2D only...so max, that's 25W. You could probably be fanless in the case and dissipate 25W. So, any airflow at all is probably just fine. I did some more research. Someone on here said they have the silent ce...

Re: Which 5770?
First off thanks to both of you. If you are determined to get a 5770, then get the Silent cell. You won't have to muck around with a 3rd party cooler, you'll keep the warranty active and I doubt it'll generate much heat ( ~25W ) doing the 2D work you want to do. Good points. also I realized the pric...

Which 5770?
I am looking to get a 5770 for a hackintosh build. Am I better off with a silent cell or another card with another card and adding on a cooler? Do some brands run cooler or idle at lower temperatures/clock speeds? what coolers would best suit an under used 5770? are there difficulties in connecting ...

It lets you dock a bare sata drive on the top of the case. It's useful for video editing and making back ups. It's obviously loud.

Best iPhone DB meter program?
I'm looking to download a DB meter program for my iPhone. there are lots of options. many offer current, average, peak, and peak hold. They all seem to be limited by the hardware to a 30-100db range. It looks like SPLnFFT noise meter is the best because it has a spectrum analyzer, but an ugly interf...

It's only 10 Euros less than the Fractal Define which has dampened hard drive mounting, more configurable fan mounting. It also includes 2 pretty good 120mm case fans and a fan controller. Mind you I'm a Fractal Design fan boy, but if the cooler master case wants to distinguish itself it needs to b...

Satellites are in the earth's orbit and get radiation from the sun. Suppose this is deep space and it has layers of mylar blocking radiation from stars. Can a heatsink transfer heat away if there is no atmosphere?

Cooling in space
So imagine you had a computer floating out in space. Is it easier or harder to cool a system? It's much colder (assuming no radiation) but there is almost no atmosphere for convection.

I found out about it via the newsletter
I'm waiting for the z68 chip set to come out. in that time I am waiting for sales on all the other parts. so far I have purchased a PSU, cooler, and ram at 15-20% off. I really want to see a big sale on cases soon.

I'm looking at either the define R3 or the define mini. both can fit the cooler I want to use, but one will have a lot more empty space. the 65watt models seem to idle around the same as the 95w models so I would also assume that the T model doesn't idle lower. If this is true, what is the point of the T model? marketing? you should hurry up and file a patent Nah, what he proposes basically looks like the Zalman heatsinks of old.[/img] That is a well taken point... but all that does is limit the scope of the patent to tower format coolers - with or without a gap in the middle such as the Prolimitech has. I read that review of the PSU lat night. It sounds amazing. they tested it as 18 to 26 DB. I wanted to put that in context of other PSUs they tested. Re: Intel Core i3-2100 vs. AMD Phenom II X2 565
When you consider cost it's important to note the price difference between DDR2 and DDR3. DDR2 is slower and costs 40 to 50% more. If you already own DDR2 sticks you can use the AMD system is much cheaper. If you don't the cost of ram makes up for the mother board price difference. The i3 2100t is c...

I'm getting the expensive case for a number of reasons but mostly for sound insulation and improved cooling (particularly with low speed fans). I don't mind spending extra on the case because it will never need upgrading. I also find the case very attractive :). Oh, and just to correct you; it's no...
