Re: 23-24" LCD Monitor - Help :)
After having noise problems with the Dell U24xx models and reading the threads on it here, I eventually settled on a Dell P2412H. Meets all the specs you have nominated including soundbar and is cheaper than the IPS models. Screen seems perfect to me. Quiet, no ghosting, adjustable. Colours seem fin...

Re: Corsair Force GS 240GB: Toggle-mode SandForce SSD
And the noise characteristics of the drive are ............ what? I know that most SSDs are assumed to be silent, but this isn't always the case. Page 2 of the review leads with the testing procedure which is all about measuring the noise levels of the drive. Yet there is no mention of noise testing...

Quiet/Noisy SSD Survey
I thought SSDs were meant to be silent, but I have just come across a review of a Fujitsu notebook that complains about the high frequency chirping noise emitted by its Toshiba Solid State Drive. http://www.notebookcheck.net/Review-Fujitsu-Lifebook-S761-Notebook.61881.0.html Can anyone provide feedb...

Re: HD6850 Passive by PowerColor!!!!!!
My advice for buyers: remove cooler, put some small heatsinks on the bare VRM mosfets, then reseat cooler, preferrably with a better thermal paste than whatever was on the GPU ( maybe they cheaped on it too ). If you still get temps too high for your taste, zip-tie a 500 rpm Slipstream on it, and t...

Re: Quiet / Noisy Monitor Survey
Dell U2410 is completely silent only at full brightness. Full brightness is very bright and draws a lot of power (>100W).
This becomes a noisy monitor with an annoying whine at anything less than full brightness

Re: Quiet 24" monitor
Finally obtained a full refund from Dell after going through 2 Dell U2410 monitors, both with exactly the same noise problem.
Can anyone recommend a truly quiet 24" 1920 x 1080 TN monitor?

Re: Modern video card noise: good enough for SPCR?
With 3rd party manufacturer coolers, it's honestly hard to tell whether they will have acceptable noise levels. One card might be great, but another similar looking one might have an annoying rattling because the fan wasn't mounted correctly. Couldn't agree more. It is a complete lucky dip as to ho...

Re: Quiet 24" monitor
I found this thread too late. Received by U2410 last week and it has the same whining hum that everybody has mentioned. I searched the Dell techical support forum and found a thread where a number of users had complained about the noise. The response from Dell was that this was common to all U2410 m...

Re: 6870 and Artic Cooling Twin Turbo Pro
Yes buy a reference model. The custom ones only have a 2 pin fan header, where the normal one has the standard 4 pin header for the artic cooling cooler to plug into. How do you find out which ones have the 4 pin headers? None of the descriptions/specifications seem to say if the cards are referenc...
