Quiet ECC server
I am building a small server, It will not be running any VM's or anything hardware intensive, but it will run 24/7 and it does need to have ECC. My budget is 30,000 Russian Roubles, most of the parts will be bought at http://www.citilink.ru/ except the PSU, which they don't carry. Yes, I know the pa...

AM1
I just ordered a 5350 and an MSI AM1I and am looking forward to doing a build with it!
Is anybody looking at the recently available AM1 platform?
Do you think companies will release aftermarket coolers for it considering the 25watt TDP?

Re: Lone Industries Mini-ITX prototype
I finaly recieved my case in the mail after a lengthy proxy process. At no fault of jamese, who sent the case out safely and promptly. I believe I am the first person in the E.U. with this case (though I may be mistaken). The rest of the components for my build have not arrived yet, but I just wante...

NSK 3480 cooler clearance
I have an NSK 3480, and I'm putting together a build with some spare parts. I have: AMD Phenom II "555" 4g Corsair DDR3 Intel X-40 SSD I was looking at the ASRock 880GM-LE and the Cooler Master Hyper 212 PLUS, however I am unsure if the cooler would hit the top of the case. This computer will simply...

Re: Lone Industries Mini-ITX prototype
I know I initially expressed some hesitation, but I'm in. I'll write a review when it gets here, to hopefully sway some other unsure European custumers.

Re: Lone Industries Mini-ITX prototype
That is quite impressive, I was leaning towards an Antec ISK310 for a future build, but having seen this I may get one following a review. Shipping to Europe is a pain That said, great job!

Re: New HTPC in an Antec ISK 310-150
I've looked for the answer to this in a couple reviews, and haven't found an answer. Is the front face aluminium or plastic?

Re: quiet video for nsk2480 htpc
I lean towards nVidia cards for linux compatability, but a passive GT 210 will do everything you wish, asuming you don't need to output a resolution higher than 1080p. I am sure someone here can sugest a AMD/ATI equivalent, if that is your preference.

fanless pc future?
They aren't fans but they do cool:
http://www.bit-tech.net/news/hardware/2 ... e-ti-dcj/1
They mention less moving parts, but don't mention noise output. I'm guessing (hoping) they will be quieter though.

Re: fanless PSU in NSK2480
Thank you, A Seasonic 460 it is. I was originaly planning on a 400, but I realized it didn't have the 2 6 pin PCIe connectors, so I moved up to the 520.

Re: fanless PSU in NSK2480
I was looking at getting the Seasonic Platinum Fanless 520W. Would it be ok powering an i3 3220, a 6870, and some hard drives?

fanless PSU in NSK2480
Would it be wise to run a fanless PSU in one of these cases? I read that fanless PSU's require some moving air. Due to the 3 chamber design, the PSU will be left by itself. Would it be OK, or would it cook?

Re: Silent PC for web and music
Hfat: I will use a G530. The loudest thing in my environment is the heat/AC system, which comes on and off as it sees fit. My hearing is OK. I guess I just want to build a computer, and be sure that it would not disturb me. I currently don't have a home server. I have a F@H/gaming rig, which is not ...

Re: Silent PC for web and music
@Pappnaas: The M72e and M92 won't output to my monitor. @Highfi: I looked into a lot of the horizontal passively cooled cases, and came to the conclusion that I wouldn't know what to do if it broke. I like to build my PC's because the parts are standerdized. If I upgrade it in a few years, i might n...

Re: Silent PC for web and music
I figured that the CPU will spend most of the time idling, so it wont output much heat, regardless of TDP rating. As for the fan and fan placement. I am completely open to suggestions. I just figured that having the one fan at the back of the case would be better than mounting it in the cooler, espe...
