I'm sorry to see things end.

I would class myself as a very serious gamer (up till 330 m playing then off to work for 9 am  ; admining a cs server and always on the pc on games). Like everything in life, it's a compromise. Silence/gfx quality. Having heard the benefits of silence on my modded oc'd rig, I am going 60/40 si...

His Excalibur IceQ 9800 Pro 128MB
http://www.ocprices.com/index.php?action=reviews&rev_id=183&page=4 Firing up the card, I was expecting an OTES-style hairdryer type noise to attack my eardrums, but I was pleasently surprised by almost complete silence. Underneath the vast IceQ contraption I found a small “Arctic Cooling” sticker, ...

Just a thought... but if you're going to twist the metal out of shape for better airflow, you might as well just cut out the intake vent "bars" with a tin snip tool to get maximum airflow. I've thought about doing it myself, but figured I'd rather not risk voiding the 3 year warranty. Bye the way.....

damn - just been running my 3d spex for the 1st time under this combo. Quake 3 is fine, but anything else which pushes the gpu causes gpu lock up , even when the 50 mm is at 12 v  (the gpu draws the same frame 2x for 3d) Tempted to rip off the artic epoxied nb off it and think of a new mod (or...

A couple of points: No geforce4 card will fry itself if it gets too hot. It will lock up before it gets hot enough to do any damage to itself. The best test for VGA cooling is to run 3DMark03 in a loop for half an hour. If it gets through that without any artifacting or lockups then you're fine. co...
