I have a Sony Trinitron monitor (model: Multiscan E400), and I don't think it makes any noise, however, I have other stuff making noise as well, so I can't really tell. If you are interested in the monitor, however, I could check for you. On another note, why don't you want an LCD monitor? Persnally...

What do I do if mobo does not have enough fan connections?
A particular motherboard that I am thinking of getting only has 1 fan connection. I was considering adding two case fans to the computer at some point in the future. Thus, I was wondering if I would still be able to do this at some point. If so, does this mean I would have to plug one of the fans di...

I dunno, that looks pretty similar to the stock 6600GT cooling... Does anyone have personal experience with the MSI card to know whether it is different (and quieter) than the stock heatsink/fan? Edit (added): BTW, here's some info I found on Google regarding MSI quiet fans. It seems to indicate th...

Re: Found a GF 6600 GT AGP online but is it too loud?
According to this review http://www.anandtech.com/video/showdoc.aspx?i=2295&p=19 The Chaintech is one of the quietest GF 6600 GT AGP cards around. It just showed up on a local store's website: http://www.greenlyph.com/product_info.php?products_id=783 I have a quiet Zalman cooler on my P4 and a quie...

How do you measure fan cut-outs on a case?
I have a case with a fan cutout on it. How do I measure what size fan would fit the cutout? I tried measuring horizonally, from the edge of one screw, or mount, hole to the other. I came up with something like ~68 - 75mm, however that isn't any of the common three sizes (120, 92, 80). Did I measure ...

Quit CPU cooler that will fit in a limited space
I'm looking for a quiet CPU cooler with as low a cost as possible (say not more than the Zalmans) but that can fit in a limited space. Use this motherboard for reference: http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc.asp?description=13-127-160&depa=0 In my current system, there is only a few mm between ...

I'm trying to figure out what kind of quiet cooling solution to use on a Geforce 6600GT. The Arctic Cooling Silencers look interesting. I need a new video card if I am going to play some newer 3D games. One of the cards I was interested in was the 6600GT. Would putting a duct (or pipe) over the fan make it quieter?
Although there are a number of video cards that have passive cooling, the ones that I actually want do not have any type of passive cooling, and since I don't want to void the warranty, I don't want to mod the video card. I'm considering the possiblity of cutting some holes in the case for placing some fans. However, if I do that, I'll need a fan grill to cover the hole.
