And here I thought I had done something original, but it looks like frenchie, the OP, had the same idea. I've got the same Lian-Li bay covers sitting around waiting for my next two Solo builds. I'll be using Antec NeoHE 500 and 550 straight-through PSUs with a single bay duct at top, with two DVD bu...

As a US citizen, I'd rather that the country was referred to as the USA or the US - we don't occupy two continents, and we fought a civil war to keep it united. However, if asked, I call myself "an American", as it's just too bloody awkward to say "a citizen of the United States of America", and nob...

You'll be fine in a Solo. The rig in the sig below (physically the same as a Solo) has all fans at full speed. It drew 111W at idle, with the CPU at 32C (9C above ambient). With 2 copies of CPUBurn running, it drew 174W, the CPU then being at 47C (24C above ambient). At no time has the Ninja ever fe...

A possible alternative is to use a Solo (or other top-psu case) with a straight-thru PSU (e.g. Antec NeoHE) and a duct to the PSU from the top 5.25" bay, to deliver cool air to the PSU. I'm planning on building a system with this type of duct using a Thermalright HR-01 Plus, which should be ok witho...

In the system in the sig below, there are four disks, all kept adequately cool by two Nexus 92mm fans at 12V. I'm more interested in cooling than quiet, hence the 12V operation. I have little doubt that running at lower voltage would work well, but 12v operation is quiet enough in this situation.

ULTRA HIGH TECH SOLUTION - a sheet of paper.

No marker or soldering needed. Just take a piece of ordinary white inkjet or laser printer plain paper or regular writing paper of almost any sort, and just slip it between the bezel and the LED. Tape it in place with the tape of your choice. 1. Open the bezel 2. tape paper over offending LED or cut...
