Unfortunately, another worthless SSD review. It seems all these sites do is benchmark the drives rather than using them as an OS drive day to day. There is a small comment at the end of the review but the language suggests the author has no first hand experience in that regard.

Just read through it and it's a very good article; essentially, random writes and price are killers for the time being and they won't be resolved for another couple of years. The velociraptor is probably the way to go in the meantime.

I understood your point the first time and my response stands.

Seems that the ripple "measurements" are worthless by the author's own admission.

That wasn't even a good attempt at trolling. Why would I give up on WD when every product I've bought from them performs as advertised (no hitching, freezing, etc.)

To be honest, I have no idea what you and your friends are talking about. I've had multiple ATI cards (Windows) and frankly their drivers in terms of stability have been superior to nvidia for quite some time. In terms of performance, I haven't had any showstoppers and the monthly updates are nice.

Nice. Pretty much confirms the other reviews. For opening apps/reading, this thing is as fast as SLC at a fraction of the price. I don't know what the deal is with Intel southbridges and SSDs in general; there seem to be issues. In any case, I'll update here when I get mine set up on the JMicron 360...

It's definitely out now as I just ordered one which should be here this week for my Antec P180. It will replace my 300W Silverstone fanless which finally gave up the ghost after three years of solid service at heavy load. btw, it's 80+ efficiency between 20-100% load.
