Remote desktop doesnt support 3d acceleration. I have a home lan, i tried to run warcraft/wolfenstein through remote desktop. It would give me an error, something about not being able to run Opengl (for wolfenstein). Warcraft wouldnt run either, drawing error or something Windows media player worked...

One final thing.. should my CPU fan be blowing onto the heatsink.. its just I'm sure i read on the site for CPU Idle to feel the heat of your CPU fan.. well my fan is blowing on it?!? laptop drives run at a lower speed, typically 4200rpm. That probably accounts for a good deal of its silence. You can try out a desktop 5400rpm drive and see if it is quieter.
