read the reviews and it seems to be quite nice... damn and i just got the shin etsu g751! pcm+ is liq and will be much easier to apply the shin paste...

since the sk7 (best to) sucks air, im planning to duct a hole straight to the cpu... so it will have fresh cool air... hopefully i can overclock better with this setup...

also some people might create a duct to exhaust the hot air from the cpu straight out of their system...

if anyone is interested... u can use a pringle potatoe chip can as a fan duct... it fit perfectly to 80mm fan...

thx Asmordean! i tried connecting 6 diodes in series and the voltage dropped as suggested... fyi, if u want to try this, make sure to align the diodes in the same direction (same pole position)... i accidently flip one diode and it screwed up my voltage drop... added: i agree the fanmate would be ea...

like most of the other post in 'power supply' section, best way to reduce noise is to replace with lower noise fan like the panaflo (fba08a12l1a) and maybe 5v or 7v it; and cut of the stamped grill and replace with a proper wire grill to reduce airflow contention...

i also cut the grill from my seasonic ps, but i didnt remove the guts at all... same as mudboy i used a nibbler... the nibbler cuts small rectangle and always falls downward... no chance of shaving to staying in the ps...

u can find one at radioshack or homedepot...

my computer is in the garage, so the temp is cool in the winter in the mid-60s and sometimes mid-50s if it's really cold... but the opposite during the summer... which climbs to mid-80s to mid-90s... for southern-CA resident...

for me personally i won't get a zalman vga cooler at this time... since the geforce fx is coming out soon and it's unlikely to be compatible with it... also the geforce fx will have a different design and cooling system... check www.anandtech.com, www.firingsquad.com, and other review sites for more...

i cut out the default fan grill and add a mesh covering of the top... replace the fan with a panaflo L at 5/12v switch... now it should have enough airflow... 8)

thx y'all for all the tips... bleeding capacitor with resistors... sounds dangerous... i'm gonna do the safe route and let it sit for 2 weeks... hopefully that's long enough... 11 days to go...

thx deeseeel... yeah i got the pal8045 too and i'm planning to use it as a cpu fan... i 5v it and the temp went up 10 C... that's why i wondered if i should even consider 7v at all... i was thinking about getting a zalman zm-f1 (http://www.zalman.co.kr/english/product/cnpsfan2.htm) and run it at 5v....
