Current Cool running 300+GB HD's?
I am looking for a 300+GB HD to run in a HTPC enclosure. The HTPC runs a bit warm and so I wanted to see what the current drives are that run cool. I know Maxtors run particularyly hot but wanted to see what the current cool drives are. Seagate 7200.9 300GB 16MB Seagate NL35 250GB Western Digital WD...

Just received a Seasonic SS-300SFD
Upon plugging it in I noticed two interesting things. The first is that it comes with a "magic bracket" to allow installation in a ATX case. The second is that at first glance it looks like there is a 24 pin connection but quickly found that a 4 pin breaks away. So there are two 4 pin connections. W...

Samsung SD-616 DVD-ROM drive LOUD
I have a Samsung SD-616 DVD-ROM drive in a HTPC in my living room. When you insert a DVD it spins up like its going to take off into space and keeps spinning for at least 2 min. I had heard that this was a quiet drive. I have tried the various DVD/CDD Utilites to lower the read without much success....

I might try to pry it off via Freezer Method. The heatsink I have is one of those long ones with a fan in the middle, pretty big. Flyingsherpa, I was thinking on using a fan in the same way, I have one of those arms, I just need to get a good silent fan. Ill post after I try the freezer trick. Thank...

Suggestions for quieting a modified ATI 8500 AIW
I added a Mighty Mite HSF from 1coolpc.com about a year ago and I think I used too much adhesive and the heatsink is stuck. The fan is too loud so I am trying to find a good solution to quiet it down but I cannot take off the heatsink. The fan is 45x10mm. Any ideas?? I dont know of any quiet 45mm fa...

ATI 8500 AIW + PII Heatsink
I had attached a loud Mightymite fan from 1coolpc.com awhile ago to OC the card. Was able to get 325/325!! I no longer OC.
Anyway I am going to take off MightyMite and use a PII heatsink which are pretty large. Would this cool the 8500?
Thanks!

Looking For Cheap Quiet 60MM fans
I need to 60mm fans to replace the two outakes on the back of a Lian Li 9300. 60mm is the largest I can use there. But I cant spend 13.00 on each fan, fan prices are ridiculous these days.
Any good and quiet 60mm fans for cheap?
Thanks!
