Well, I ended up getting a MacBook 13" yesterday... the white 13" 2.0GHz was out of stock, and I needed one right away so I "settled" with a BlackBook 13" Things to report 1. No mooing at all. Apparently this machine came into the store about 3 weeks ago. 4H6261, so I believe it to be a week ...

MacBook 13" Reviews?
Hey there, Does anyone have first hand experience with the MacBook 13"? Bonus if anyone has done the dirtywork and cleaned up the thermal paste application: http://home.sc.rr.com/mixedbag/MBP/Welcome.html I'm narrowing my laptop choices down, and have it pretty much between these two laptops: Asus W...

The LG drive is pretty quiet during DVD playback. Enough that it is a non-issue when I want to watch a movie. On the BenQ DW1655 it's terrible and I usually end up ripping the movie to my hard drive and then watch. Newer LG drives are no longer the 41xx series, but H10A/N or whatever. Reviews lead m...

Thanks guys. Much more positive response to this build rather than my gaming P180  The fan is an old OEM Panaflo that I had lying around waiting to be used in my yet-to-be-purchased-over-two-years water cooling setup. Now I have only one left.. argh. Panaflo FBK-12G12LH, as seen in the old rig...

What is the refresh rate? One review implied that it is fixed at 60Hz. I ask because I find the flicker at 60Hz on a CRT intolerable; I run all mine at 85Hz. 2560x1600 @ 60Hz There is no flicker like on CRTs. The only benefit of higher refresh rate on an LCD would be if you want vsync enabled. Vert...

Thanks for your constructive criticism. I don't know how much better the Zalman NB47 would be than the stock cooler. It also does not come with mounting hardware for Intel loops... there are mods, but I'd prefer not to destroy my stock cooler. As far as ducting goes, I'm not sure where exactly the d...

If you flip the mounting arms on the Zalman 7000, you can get very good mounting pressure. There are links to pictures on a German website an xtremesystems.org, but they're down right now. EDIT: Near the bottom of the first post, you can find links to instructions for the 7000 (and 7700) http://www...

Yeah the NB fan is quite noisy :( One thing to note, using 4 or 5 strips of electrical tape can work well as a shim (thanks to the guys at xtremesystems.org for the tip). The Zalman 7000-AlCu sits very loose due to the lack of IHS. I compensated for it by rolling a little rectangle of electrical tap...

Anybody get their hands on one of these beasts yet? I've been looking for a quiet, high-capacity drive... judging by the last 5 WD drives I've purchased, this one might be my next buy.

The MX610 is my new favorite mouse: it has 10 (count 'em, 10!) buttons, and they are much more usable than on previous designs. The MX610 is almost a perfect mouse... but I noticed that it had lots of trouble when I was gaming. I've a Wireless B network in my house (Old crappy Linksys), and I think...

Is it dangerous to change the NB cooler? I have heard the chipset core is very fragile... :? You can easily peel off the foam "shim" from the stock cooler, and reapply it to the Zalman. Also make sure you tighten the screws on the Zalman clips. It's probably as dangerous as changing a heatsink on a...

Keep in mind too that Samsung drives are at the other end of the spectrum; they have a reputation for being the coolest drives around. There is a (controller?) chip on the bottom of my Samsung 250 GB SATA drive that gets burning hot when there is a continuous load on the drive... Unfortunately I ca...

DFI nForce 4 with good chipset placement!
The ATX connector lets the floppy cable fold properly, but it looks like the 4 pin power connector got moved to a crummy spot.
Where'd all the MOSFET heatsinks go?

Any information on how this would affect systems based on an Antec 3x00 series case with respect to hard drive cooling? Opening up the PSU as an intake would likely require putting a low speed fan infront of the hard drives. Also, does anyone know if Fortron plans to create a fanned version of this ...
