Hey, 1. I've been using a Chinaflo L1A@7V modded SL350S (from BQE) for roughly half a year now. It's still working great (but warm). My system (see specs in my rig) is usually folding 24/7. Others also have had great success with the same mod. 2. As for where to plug in the 7V, it seems intuitively ...

Haha I think I saw this in a previous post but but just how well will it keep dust out? I mean the more fine dust? Fine dust is a problem when the dryer sheets are clean. After a small layer of dust builds up on the sheet, the fine dust usually gets captured by the dust layer. Of course, it depends...

No CNQ for me. Manually undervolt any Newcastle systems I build (for friends/family), and stick on Speedfan to keep the system cool. Usually Folding or UD is running on the systems. 1.30V on a NC 3000+/Gigabyte K8NNXP 1.40V on a NC 3000+/DFI Lanparty UT My own CH (C0) 3200+/MSI K8N Neo I leave at st...

Very impressive setup! A question about your 7200.7's.. do they have AAM enabled or disabled? I have the same drives, only the seek noises drive me insane (no pun intended.. for real). I currently have mine in a cage (that came with my Antec SX1030 case), and they're resting on foam.. but the cage a...

Stock Antec BQE fan seized/ressurected
This was really weird.. I took this fan out, and it had been sitting in a box for about a month or two.. After recently acquiring various W/C parts, I pulled the fan out to test ohw much air would flow through the rad. Plugging it in (default 12V), it would spin maybe 1 or 2 times per second... Then...

As for zoob's initial post, I couldn't decide whether you're talking about the 7000 vs 7000A or the 7000A vs the 7000B. I've got both A and B versions (all cu versions) and the fans on them are identical. The fanmates are different but the end results are also the same. If your CPUs run cool enough...

New vs. old Zalman 7000/A fan noise
Hi I just purchased two new Zalman 7000A-AlCu's, and the mechanical noise is unbearable unless I dial the fanmate down to minimum. In terms of mechanical noise, the new @ 5V is the same as the old @ ~7V (working from memory, as the old one is in my brother's PC over in Ottawa). On top of this, it se...

I had the exact same problem. It worked well for a week, then when I swapped it into another computer, it would not boot. I think the VGA silencer may be shorting something, as there is one particular section of my AIW9600P that heats up really quickly if the computer won't boot. Ended up switching ...

Keep in mind, not everyone wants to run at stock speeds. I see this posted all the time that 'the GPU temperature doesn't matter', but when it comes to performance (which usually does not mix well with silence), it DOES matter. Even so, some stock cards, unmodified the day they came out with the box...

Yeah, it seems like 9500/9600/9800 Cards (tested by myself, and a friend of mine) make the PSU squeal. For some reason, the combination of an Asus A7N8X-X w/9800XT and the Noisetaker, it does not. I've tried putting ferrite rings on the molex cable feeding the card, but that does not change a thing....
