Hi ting, when we were developing the fanless power supply with Etasis, our goal was to create a fanless PSU that will fit anywhere. We had envisioned that many of our customers will be using it in HTPC settings so it was critical (we believed) that there were no extra heatsinks coming out the back ...

etasis fanless
I bought my etasis, in september 2004. It's been a while since ive posted here since my system is qiuet. The psu is mostly on 24/7. I have two 120mm papst fans running at 700 rpm(back outlet) and 450 rpm (front inlet). Kontrolled by speedfan. My case is becoming a bit dusty, since it's been a while ...

Initiall experiences whit Etasis Fanless
I bought the Etasis and my preliminary impressions are these: Havent tested it over as many hours as i'd like to since my instalation gave me some errors. The errors are related to the sata cables and the samsung HD, and not the Psu mind you. Power: No broblems with my below set up. Noise: I really ...

One thing, after doing some research the silverstone and etasis are identical, except for the fins sticking out the back of the etasis. Could this concivably increase the hot air movement out of the psu and case? Im baffled as to why silverstone does not use these finns. Anybody have any ideas? http...

The inside case fan is set by a fanmate to something betwen 5 an 6 volts. The back case fan is varied by spedfan down to about 6-7 volts. the 700alcu fan is running between 4 and 6 volts. Using speedfan the cpu and back case fan are able to cool the system using the variable speed function. I can re...

It is available here for 750, but i have concerns about a unit that uses 2 fans. Also, its not a 120 mm fan unit. If i remember the fysics correct, the the frequency will be more at the same cfm. Also if one of the fanless psu's work, then there would be a more prediktable airflow direction i should...

ak89 max
I find 50% to be to much, so i use speedfan, it lowers the rpm even more, + the fans rpm increase with the temperature automaticly. for those of you who have similar rigs. My speedfan speed is set for cpu: 4%(1188rpm) -7%(1650) and the back case fan to 3%(811rpm) -6%(1233). I find this to be more th...

Yeah tibors has a point. Here is where my knowlege is lacking. Anyway, I first tried the msi k8 neo platinum. That is a good example of a motherboard not utilizing its winbond. It had 4 fan connectors, with only 2 sensors. I think its chip supported 3. I swapped it in for the aopen. So i suggest you...

variated fan speed
I have an aopen ak89 max. Ive had it for about a week or so, and i am currently using speedfan. I have also tried the silentek which is bundled with the board. I don't feel its all that good. Though I havent spent so much time with it i have kept using speedfan. The reason is: Silentek only gives yo...

easy placement
I guess it depends mostly on which heatsink you use. There are different attachment methods. Ive installed a cooler on a socket a and a socket 754. I like the 754 best, but that might be because my new pc has it. Anyway, i recomend the zalman 7000, its easy to place. Ive tried thermaltake silent vik...

msi backplate
The stock backplate is glued to the motherboard. I used a combination og pulling the backplate and using a small flat screew driver to remove it. It takes time and patience. When you get it open a little you will be able to see the glue. Just slice it of with the screw driver. Don't get impatient, t...
