I am looking for a video card, I mostly do office, email, movies on my PC. Maybe an ocasional game.. Would this be enough to handle current games? Those are excellent results, I especially like the 14 Watts idle consumption. Now If I could just find one of these cards with a stock passive solution.

Underclocking Radeon 3780 or Nvidia 8800GT

I am looking for a video card and 22"/24" LCD combo. But when I am not gaming I would like to reduce the massive 100 Watts drawn by the video card. Is there a way to drastically reduce the wattage usage by the card?

I like the 8600GTS or GT, it takes up 2 power connectors? Is it a power hog?
Really like the HDTV adapter. I don't have an SLI motherboard, do they have a version of that card without SLI?

I will let you know what I find out about LCD's, when I get around to it.

video-card and 22" LCD screen suggestion

Hi, I have a pretty decent quiet computer. It is a Intel Core 2 Duo E6320 Socket with 1GB of RAM. It has only 120 mm Nexus fans. The thing is that I have never upgraded the video card or display. Right now I have a 19 CRT monitor and an old Radeon 7200. I would like to get a 22" LCD and a decent vid...

Where would I be able to purchase these?

I bought a E6420, 2.19 Ghz. Increasing it to 3 Ghz would be great. I think they can go even higher. But It would be nice to know I can clock the RAM even higher, then the 400 Mhz. I guess I am trying to do the difficult task of future proofing a system. For example over clocking a quad-core CPU. che...

OCZ vs. Mushkin?

Which RAM is better quality and is capable of bigger overc-clocking. They are the same price. The OCZ has slightly faster timings. They would be going into a Asus P5B-E motherboard. Here are the modules: Mushkin EM Series EM2-6400 DDR2-800 2x1GB 240-pin DIMM CAS 5-5-5-12 vs OCZ (OCZ2P800R22GK) DDR2 ...

I picked up a P5B-E. Nice thanks for the hears up SebRad. I do not have any of those 4 pin fans. I have 3 120mm nexus fans. Well looks like they will be spinning at the same speed. And can speedfan adjust them automatically according to temperature?

Hey thanks floffe,

That was awesome, I think I will hold off on the purchase for now. Maybe buy a PSU after a year. BTW how did u come up with the initial AC power draw of 214 W for 70% and 182 for 82%?

The only additional purchase will have to be the 20 to 24 pin converter and a 80 mm low panaflo fan. This will probably cost $20. I still want to do some calculations of potential savings. The power cost where I live is about 6 cents per kilowatt hour. How much power do you think the system above wi...

I am sure it will work, but I would like to know if the power savings of a new PSU is worth the purchase of it in the first place.

How much money can be saved?

Hi, I am building a new c2d system, I have an existing Antec 3700 BQE case which came with a 350 Watt Antec PSU. Would it be worth upgrading to a newer v2.1 certified PSU? Or do the money savings do not outweigh the initial cost of the PSU? The system would be up for the majority of the day. The onl...

Question about AI Nap and Q-Fan 2

I am looking into buying a P5B-E. I have never used AI Nap or Q-Fan 2, and can't find any review. I would like to put my PC to sleep during night time, yet have it continue to download files. Would these tools fit the bill?

I don''t think the P5B-E supports Speedfan. Which is a bummer. I would like to put my PC in sleep mode at night so it can continue on downloading. Can speedfan down-clock everything. I.e. CPU, hard drive, and case fans.

For those of you who have PC's in the bedroom. What is the best way to set the PC in sleep mode. Asus p5b-e vs Gigabyte GA-965G-DS3

Which one would you recommend. They are both in the same price. The nice thing about the Gigabyte is that it has on board video. But with regards to silence which one would be batter with speedfan? I think I will get the cheaper alternative. I do not need the bells and whistled of the P5B delux. My only concern is, when overclocking to the potential of the RAM. Is the bus of the pci-express lowered?
