Hmmm...which direction did you rotate it in, with the thicker end (the end with the tubing attachments) towards the motherboard or towards the case side? I had to mount mine with the tubing end towards the case side, because the motherboard rear-panel jacks got in the way if I tried to mount it with...

Corsair H50 + Antec Solo?
Has anyone seen a Corsair H50 water cooling unit installed in an Antec Solo case? I just installed one last night, and the radiator does not fit well at the rear 120 mm fan mount. I was not smart enought to check all the dimensions before installing. The radiator bulges at the top and bottom ...

Windows 7 drivers or MSI's?
I just built a new Windows 7 system using the MSI 785GM-E65 mobo. During the OS install, it seemed as if Windows 7 had all the drivers it needed for setting up the system. The only driver I manually installed was the latest Catalyst driver for my Radeon HD4850, and basically the system seems to be r...

Well, I had to bite on some Black Friday deals. I ordered a Phenom II X4 955BE and the MSI 785GM-E65 from ZipZoomFly for about $235 shipped (combo deal). Also got 4Gb of GSkill DDR3 from NewEgg for $70 shipped. After I receive them it may be a few weeks before I get my system rebuilt, but I'll try t...

Are you talking about Gigabyte GA-MA785GMT-UD2H? The product page has that nice 140W CPU Support "sticker" and Phenom II X4 965 is indeed listed in the CPU Support List. D'oh! How did I miss that? I hadn't noticed the '140w CPU' logo to the side, I was just reading the text. In my defense, t...

The Gigabyte boards do have 3 fan headers, CPU is definitely PWM. The SYS header is 4pin, however page 25 of the manual shows there is no speed control on the 4th pin, its labeled as "Reverse" Finally there's a 3pin north bridge header, but this runs at 12v all the time - no bios control. Thanks, I...

Double check the supported cpu lists depending what Phenom II chip you're thinking about to ensure that it supports that processor's wattage. That's how I came up with my notion about the 140w support - the Gigabyte CPU support for those two boards does not seem to list the 140w X4 965. The Asrock,...

Newegg's prices for this card have dropped quite a bit recently and I'm really tempted to pick one up... http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814125258 ...but they also have the HIS v...

4670 with a passive S1 cooler. forget the rear venters, they are noisy, are about 30 degrees C hotter than PASSIVE! and, well, you can always re-use the s1. Are all rear-venters noisy? And how can they be hotter than passive? I speak from ignorance, my current Gigabyte 1950Pro has a Zalman cooler w...

Great article, I'd love to see more reviews of video cards as well. They are one of the easier components to swap in a system, and probably get upgraded more frequently than CPUs, hard drives, etc. The last vidcard I bought, a Gigabyte X1950PRO, promised silent running with its Zalman heatsink and f...

Nope, I don't own a Green Power to compare...and just to be clear, I'm not saying that the 6400AAKS isn't quieter than my older Samsung...I'm just saying, that with my setup, both drives are quieter than my VGA fan so I can't tell the difference in the overall system sound. I don't hear any drive no...

I agree - why not ditch the 200mm fan for a 120mm like the P180 has, then at least you have the option of replacing the Antec fan with your favorite 120. And I refuse to put a computer case on my desk, that just moves the sound closer to my ears, so the optical drives at the bottom don't work at all...

That's more than they charge for the P182. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811129041 Price at ZZF is $129.99. Hopefully a review soon? Correct; I don't own one but all the reviews I've read give the 7900GS great bang-for-the-buck ratings. The 7600GT gets good ratings too, but if the difference is only $20 I would think saving up for the 7900GS would be well worth it. On the other hand, if having a fanless vidcard is important I'm n...
