I've got all my fans running at 5v. Four 80mm Panaflo L1As; intake in front of HD, cpu on SLK-800, exhaust, and PSU. Hmm... actually, I have the exhaust disconnected right now. But everything gets run at 5v, and I work with that to get the best cooling. I don't allow myself to see upping the fan vol...

I've only built two systems with the 4252, one for my parents and my main system. I'm quite often working and fiddling with stuff in my system, and the 4252 has been great and easy to work with. Sometimes I've wished for a tad bit more space, but for the price and ventilation abilities, its the best...

GF4 ti4200 passively cooled w/ modded ZM17-CU (linked pics)
I've had this setup going since November. I've mentioned it a few times, but finally got some pictures. In the progression of silence and cooling for my video card I went from the stock cooler and fan (didn't make THAT much noise) to unplugging the fan and running the stock HSF passive. But the GPU g...

Most any of them will probably do fine. Not sure I'd deal with a cordless model though, never seem to have enough power. If you're going to be doing lots of metal cutting, do yourself a favor and pick up a pair of metal snips. Check out this thread at the top of this forum, if you haven't already. I...

Yeah, about 3/16" to 1/4". I happen to have my 4252 open on my workbench behind me so I snapped some pictures.

That's with an old school Abit KT7A motherboard. You can see the support ledge for the PSU and the location of the upper mobo support screws.

For what its worth, I successfully modded some super cheap Sparkle 250W PSUs I had laying around. Put a 5V Panaflo in them and had no problems. But, these were also in an AMD K6-266 and a P2-300; not exactly the most power hungry or hot-running systems. Used those for over one year. Had other proble...

I wanted a signature that looked a little less boring than the default. I used the SAP method(anyone familiar with SAP knows SAP=Slow and painful), meaning I browsed different f@h forums and looked at the different sigs ppl were using and picked one. Then I just did like Michael_qrt. Default? DEFAU...

Hmmm... was just recently thinking about my topic here. Curious to see that it is still going. I haven't checked my Dvorak speed recently, and not sure I need/want to. I can tell that I'm not quite up to the speed I had with QWERTY, but as folks just mentioned, typing is SO much more comfortable. An...

Wall mount setup can work just damn fine, if you have wall space nearby the desk. I currently have a rather ghetto setup (too lazy to make it look nice) attached to a piece of plywood hanging on the wall. I've got the PSU totally open with one fan blowing up across it. The AMD 1700 is cooled with an...

All depends on what you want. Personally, I don't care for messing with a system if its not going to be doing at least ~150ppw/~20ppd. My P3-566 is dead on at 150ppw, so it works (its also my backup server, so it would be on anyway). I tried putting FAH on an old Pentium Pro 200 dually system, just ...

Zyzzyx has overtaken Mike_Chin and the #16 spot. Ayup yup. That I have. Feels wrong to be passing Mike though. Anyway, recovering from some temporary issues with work systems, and might be adding a couple new ones. I had dropped off the top 20 list, but should be solidly back on there now, and for ...

You will need a MASSIVE heatsink to run it completely passive, with the only airflow being from a front case fan for example (say a 120mm Panaflo L @ 5v). By massive, I mean something like an Alpha Pal8045. I definitely disagree with you on your sizing comment. Massive? No. Much bigger than stock? ...
