I hope that the Tagan TG480-U22 will be without the problems of earlier models. Since it fits the bill. (if i hear no stories like the ones heard about earlier models(strange noise), then i'll probably get it) The Enermax Coolergiants have fans that go up to 3000 rpm, that isn't going to be quiet. S...

The only OCZ model that has => ATX 2.0 (and thus dual 12v rails) and 4 sata connectors is the 600 W Powerstream. Too much and too expensive for me. PSU's with 4 Sata connectors certainly exist, but are less common than ones with 2 Sata connectors. 2 are not enough and i don't want to start using con...

Hello: Ive ordered OCZ VX from OCUK to run 1T-2-2-2 at 250 mhz Most likely to run it around 3.2-3.5 volts which could get toasty  Are you sure about that RAM voltage? I have not heard of anything above 2.8-2.9 volts! Over 3 volts seems a little far fetched to me...though I could be wrong... ...

I have no computer of my own atm. I'm just preparing for the choices ahead. I know that performance on a storage drive is not that important, but on the main drive it is. I guess i'll have to wait until more people have the new maxtors. Thanks for your suggestions, i do know that if i go with the st...

The storage drives will have a what i call semi constant use. In the worst case the storage drives will be constantly active transfering small amounts of data. I've never had/heard a "quiet" computer, so i'm not sure if it would be a good idea to use louder, but better performing drives for storage....

The 300 GB Diamondmax 10 is a 3 platter drive(if i go for the maxtor's then i want the performance of 2 platter drives not 3 platters), which i would rather avoid. A 300 GB gb drive as a "working/os" drive is also too big. EDIT: The 250 GB Diamondmax 10 is also 3 platters. The basic idea was: one fo...

More More Silent Drives vs. Fewer Less Silent Drives
I was wondering what would be better.(theoreticly) 4* 160 GB Samsung Spinpoint (Nidec) (P Series, SATA) vs 3* 250 GB Maxtor Diamondmax 10 (SATA) 4* 160 GB Samsung Spinpoint (JVC) (P Series, SATA) vs 3* 250 GB Maxtor Diamondmax 10 (SATA) Would a smaller amount of drives be better or not? (1 drive bei...

The price difference between the gigabyte 6600gt fan version and the turbo with heatpipe is (at least at one store i know) that the normal one comes with doom 3. The price of the normal one is higher there too. EDIT: you were talking about the regular 6600, none of the cards at that store have heatp...

Why didn't you buy a Gigabyte 6600GT Turbo Edition(GV-NX66T128VP)? It would be the logical choice, since it comes with a heatpipe from the factory. I know you already bought something, but it seems as not everyone is aware of the existence of this card. It's not as available as the normal version, b...
