Thanks AZBrandon. It works in the 180-250V range, so it is good for me. However the plug is British like. I would need two adaptors British-to-rest-of-Europe. If I don't find any other options I will go for this one.
I'll wait a bit in case someone can help me with other options.

Measuring power consumption
First of all, I don't know if this is the correct forum for this, if it isn't I hope that some mod moves it to the correct one. It is about power consumption of systems. I know many people measure power consumption with an electronic device branded "kill-a-watt". However it is designed for 125V elec...

I'm very surprised by the noises of the papst fan. I don't own a 80mm papst fan, but I own several 120mm ones from papst. The 120mm that I own don't make any clicking nor other wierd noises at 5V, 12V or at any other value in that range. I'm looking forward to reading the review for 120mm fans to co...

If you don't want to use speedfan, nor the gigabyte utility, you have other interesting alternative, motherboard monitor: http://mbm.livewiredev.com/ However it could be a little old and newer motherboards could not be supported. You can use coretemp too, and other option that comes to my mind is RM...

If your motherboard has the appropiate sensors then you can access them with several freeware utilities. I would suggest speedfan from www.almico.com. It also provides the possibility to control your fans

I found some interesting information about undervolting and overclocking in this post: My experience on undervolting & overclocking Core 2 Duo I've seen there that the lowest voltage that it can be used is 1,15V (for E6400 at least) and not 1,05V. EDIT: I was kinda blind when I looked for posts abou...

Ok, so let's assume a not overclocked E6600 at idle (at 6x266=1.6GHz and being not overclocked and not running at the edge of stability, CE1 and speedstep can be enabled). What is the lowest voltage that you can set with RMClock to get the lowest power consumption, and what is the power consumption ...

OK, I finally bought the Athlon X2 4600+ for 249€, something in the middle of the two options I considered before. I got in this processor a 75W TDP, so I think it won't be too hard to keep it cool with a Ninja Scythe or Thermalright Ultra-120 (my next buy). What I'm a little dissapointed with is ...

Undervolting athlon X2
I am trying to undervolt an athlon X2 4600+ with crystalcpuid or rmclock. No problems at load, but I can't undervolt under 1,1V at idle. In RMclock the lowest option is just 1,1V (the default with C&Q) In CrystalCPUId, I can select lower voltages but in CPU-Z I can't see any change below 1,1V. In my...

Then with your rule of thumb I think am in conditions to upgrade :) I've seen the benchmarks in tomshardware.com and the x2 4400+ is more than 50% faster than my 3000+winchester in most cases. And the price is not that high, that is why I decided to make the upgrade. Upgrading to a complete new syst...

Need advise for CPU upgrade (S939)
I currently have an athlon 64 3000+ (winchester). These are my upgrade options: Athlon X2 4400+ Toledo (max TDP 89W) at 304€ Athlon X2 4800+ Toledo (max TDP 110W) at 239€ I think that TDPs are max and the real TDP depends on luck, but do you think that gettin the 4800 is too risky? Obviously I w...

I need it for portable data. I finally got a really silent system, and now my old 2,5" 40GB external usb enclosured HD is the source of noise. So I'd like to replace it. What I am looking for: - Portable (small): that's why I chose 2,5". Smaller HDs than 2,5" are very expensive and with lower capaci...

I would suggest RMClock. It is a great utility. With adjusted voltages I get about 10ºC lower temperatures in my CPU when idle (at 800MHz) and about 15ºC lower on load (at 2GHz) in my athlon64 3000 with 89W TDP. I also use it in my laptop (2GHz PentiumM), and now the fan is off most of the time. I...

Update: I bought yesterday a Samsung HD401LJ and I have to say that it is much quieter than any of the seagates I had before (7200.7 and 7200.8 satas). I even would say that the seagates should be in some kind of black list in SPCR  The samsung is much quieter in idle, which is what I most care...

Looking for USB 2,5" Silent drive
I see 2 options
1) buying an enclosure + HD
2) buying a full product
Problem with 1) is that I can't find an enclosure that connects through SATA, all are IDEs.
Problem with 2) is upgradability, but I don't care too much.
Any recomendations?

I am seriously thinking into buying that samsung. I have already tried something like that. But the problem is that I cant isolate the front because there is not enough space for damping material, and I dont want to block the airflow. Thinking about upgrading my hard drives
I have two seagates (a SATA 160GB 7200.7 and a SATA 250GB 7200.8). I usually work at night, and for me they are terrible noisy. The rest of my system is already quieted (antec sonata, scythe ninja, low power components, ...). The only thing I can hear are the HD drives. I am considering the idea of ...
