OK - gotta ask: where on earth did you get that heatsink that sits outside of the chassis? Did you build it yourself or from a kit? I certainly haven't seen anything like that from Thermalright.
And I thought I was a Thermalright whore since my desktop has an HR-03 GT, an HR-05 IFX SLI and an XP-90 in it...I'm awestruck.

It's DFI Transpiper. I haven't bothered installing mine as it doesn't do much.derekva wrote:OK - gotta ask: where on earth did you get that heatsink that sits outside of the chassis? Did you build it yourself or from a kit? I certainly haven't seen anything like that from Thermalright.
Ah. Thanks for the info, Kepakko.Kepakko wrote:It's DFI Transpiper. Actually, it reminds me of some sort of grilling device - but I doubt it gets that hot.

What do you get when you cross Snoop Dogg, a computer geek, lots of thermal paste, and a fat wallet?...Pimpin.. . ....But seriously, that's impressive. How much does it weigh? And I'm a bit curious on the performance of the hr-03+, since other than that one German site (sorry I forgot the name of it), there doesn't seem to be many thorough reviews on the heatsink.

Just more picture with details
Amazing Enough, A HR-09 Type 3 perfectly fits onto HD3870s with push pins
Side panel FOamed up
as you can see, foam is wedged between the pexi and side
Every section you see with foam comprosed of 3 layers
1. Silicone adhesive which very easy to remove
2. Neoprene sheets for adding mass and make easy clean up if I remove the foam
3. Either I use Sonex Acoustic (melamine foam, white) or Some inexpensive cellous foam (sponge, commonly found in black) you can get from any computer shop
Finnaly after weeks of searching this rare long crossfire cable, asus includes them in their High end AM2+ motherboards and I was able to get this rare cable off of ebay
the other side panel

Both cards in Crossfire, results recorded using ATi Catalyst in OverdriveTM sub menu, MX-2 were used as the TIM during the mounting of the aftermarket HR-03 coolers
Both card's clock speeds are
Core: 800
mem: 1170
HD 3870s
#1 is the bottom card
#2 is the top card next to 2 fans
Ambient 22c
Idel
#1: 43c
#2: 36c
Load
Results Recorded during the 30 mins of crysis game play by average
#1: 71
#2: 51
Im trying to replace the side panel for one with side exaust to furthur reduce tempatures
Other info
DFI X38
Q6600
PCpower cooling 750w silencer
2 X 250 GB single platter seagates in raid 0/1 intel matrix

Without damping, the case made a somewhat hollow echo noise. This case is huge and I barely have anything inside of it XDlor77 wrote:IKIKUINTHENUTZ Very nice built you have there.
I was more interested in the damping you used.
Did it have any effect in reducing the noise produced, how you describe the noise before and after foam was applied?(I mean all this layers)
Congrats again on the built.!!
I am going to increase the damping and add in a side fan when I get my brand new sidepanel, no ugly pexiglass for me.
Already working on it mate I left it in because it looks asthetically good to me, im working on a plain fan grill spray painted black lolNeilBlanchard wrote:Hello,
The fan grills seem to be pretty restrictive. I think that it takes the cake on heatsink surface area...

I already tried, it is impossible to add another HR-11 on the 2nd card due to space constraintskater wrote:You're still missing one HR-11
Nice, hefty build, lotsa metal & cooling surface.
I'm always wondering - how quiet those PC P&C beauts are?
Honestly im suprised how quite my PC P&C is with a 80mm san ace inside of it. I guess it's seasonic's ingenuity trademark in all their psus (it's a seasonic OEM) but I have heard cosair psu noise levels and they are a bit lower in fan motor noise.
I got my new side panel recently and some SLipstream fans, I will post updated pics later

There is no HR-05, it is clearly shown in all my pictures, if your thinking of over lapping over to the DFI NB heatsink then that is still impossible, the HR-03 on the first card blocks the only other possible orientation of a HR-11 on the 2nd card, the other 2 ways are still blocked by the first card PCBoxygen200000 wrote:You can use HR 05 SLI instead of HR 05 and you'll have more space near the 2nd VGA card...

Sonex Mini 1"lor77 wrote:Again another question about dampening.
Which product exactly from Sonex did you use?
I mean there are a bunch products in Sonex wed site, did you use the classic foam or Sonex One Foam?
Thanks, and again congrats for your built.
