3D spheres

Post by Puffi » Fri Dec 15, 2006 2:26 pm

i'm looking for an application that shows a 3D sphere that i can rotate. simple stuff. i just want to slap different textures on it. hell a good programmer could probably code this in 15 minutes if they wanted to...

all i've found are plugins to 3D programs like 3Dmax or something. i just want a small, simple program that does this.

For simple free 3d drawing tool, you might try:

My wife has used POV-Ray, for rendering mathematically-defined surfaces. It's free, multi-platform, and can certainly draw a sphere, but might be a bit more 'powerful' (a.k.a. complicated) than you'd like.
