GPU fan stuck at 100%
I have a Leadtek PX8800 GTS TDH 640MB graphics card that is a little over 2 years old. Everything has been working fine so far, but now the variable speed fan on the card seems to be stuck to 100% speed even before Windows is loaded. It just started doing this today. I tried to update the BIOS of the card and Nvidia's drivers, but that didn't change anything. Any suggestions?
Download/install EVGA Precision and try lowering the fan speed and press apply.

Does it work?
If not, then it's possible that the fan control mechanism is broken.

You can also try to modify the default fans speed settings in the BIOS using NiBiTor (Nvidia BIOS Editor), but it's not exactly for the feint of heart.
Aside from that, you're other options are to disconnect the fan from the card and use your own fan controller to do the work (whether it be a mobo header with Speedfan, a simple FanMate2, or a full-blown fan controller). You'd have to figure out how you'd monitor/control the speed on your own though.
