I have a ATI AIW 9000 and am looking for a fanless alternative that supports the same feature set. After reading some of the posts here and on the Zalman website it seems that getting a passively cooled AIW solution is problematic (the ZM80 only fits on the 9700 per Zalman website) and expensive.
I'm considering a combination of a Sapphire 9200/9600 and a Leadtek TV2000XP expert as an alternative. I'm not a big gamer so I don't need high-end 3D performance. Has anbody else implemented or considered a two card alterantive to AIW???
I'd gladly spend cash and give up my last PCI slot to get rid of that ATI fan.
Plan "B" is to replace the active heatsink with passive Northbridge heatsink and see what happens. I'd only consider this if it will work without a dedicated GPU fan.
Thanks,
Tim

As a matter of fact, I have! Yes, the Sapphire Radeon 9200 serves me well considering its decent gaming performance and stock, no-frills passive cooling. I would also have to give two thumbs up for the Leadtek PVR as its a wonderful solution for the PC at a great price (like $40 something at Newegg). It's worked well for me, and I would highly recommend it!
Why Leadtek Expert?
The new Expert card has a Conexant CX23880 Decoder chip with 10 bit video A/D instead of Fusion 8 bit decoder in the Deluxe card. My inner geek says go with the newer card for better capture quality. Newegg has a screaming deal on the Deuxe card and a avalance of postive reviews on their website.
