In my foolishness, I tightened the lid too hard on my reserator. Now I can't get it off
Could someone please check for me if you unscrew it clockwise or counterclockwise? Thanks in advance.

Counterclockwise, just like the lid on a pickle jar.
Good luck!

If you really can't get it off you might try an oil filter wrench that uses a rubber strap to grip the filter. I really don't think you should need something that extreme unless you managed to crossthread it though.

I've found a strap wrench to have 1001 uses around the house, including twisting stuborn reserators apart
(works good on pickle jars too)

I have found an easier way, but it only works, if you have a big freezer, or it is cold outside. Just let it cool down, and then try to open it. It worked for me, and i did not have to buy a tool for it.

It also helps if you grease the O-rings at both ends before you put it back together.
