AM2+ Silent fan

Hi.

I'm building a AM2+ system. I need someone to recommend me a fan that's quiet. I won't be doing very cpu-intensive tasks (basic web, mail, word processing, STARCRAFT).

I prefer that you find silent fans from Tigerdirect or Newegg because that's where I'll buy most of the stuff. If you know other nice fans but not from newegg or tigerdirect, let me know also.

I really like my Arctic Cooling 64 Pro. It's 30 dollars on newegg and occasionally will go on a free shipping deal. It's got a 92mm Arctic Cooling fan mounted on it with rubber mounts therefore eliminating all vibration. The only issue is that when the fan is at 12v it is loud, stellar cooling, but loud. You have to slow the fan down. I use my BIOS and the smart fan feature, and my fan is dead silent. Right now my fan is at 960RPM and my CPU is at 66F. And I'm playing World of Warcraft so my CPU isn't just sitting here doing nothing.

I buy most products from Newegg but when it comes to fans and accessories nothing beats Jab-tech. Tigerdirect has a poor rep.

How do you control the voltage on the Arctic cooling 64 pro so that it's not 12V?

With my motherboard's BIOS. There's a smart fan option that will increase fan speed according to the CPU temperature.

+1 for the AC Freezer 64.
I've got mine running at 861 RPM now and I cant hear it above the PSU and HD racket. Mind you I too have used Asus Qfan to get it down that slow.
Before I discovered Qfan, I used to undervolt the fan by hard-wiring resistors to the red wire.
