I read the thread discussing the review of the SLK3000B case. I had decided to order a Samsung Spinpoint HD, but after reading the discussion about the mods required to silence the vibration noise from the Spinpoint/SLK3000B combination, I am not so sure. I would prefer not to do mods if possible. Is this still an issue with the Spinpoint/SLK3000B combination? If it is, would the solution be to get a Barracuda HD?
Thanks!

No, buying other HDs doesn't help with this problem. Plus the Seagate Barracuda HDs you can buy now are 7200.7 or 7200.8 which are not so quiet as the old IV and V.
You could check out burcakb's Thor's Hammer. The mod is real easy to do. The only tool you need for it are scissors to cut the elastic cord.
