Once you go black do you ever go back?
I have a problem, and i need your help to solve said problem.
I'm building a new PC, specs as follows.
A64 4400 x2
Mobo (unspecified as of yet although i like the A8N32)
2Gig RAM (Probably OCZ platinum)
7800GT
Raptor II + Generic 250/300Gig HD
PSU: undecided, possibly a seasonic 600W (Same price as 500W at the moment)
Now to my real problem, do i buy a bog standard p180 or do i pay a 15% premium to buy a black one. We all know that black computers are faster, and i'd get the nifty little SPCR sticker but is it worth the premium?
It's tricky isn't it.

Too few options. Where's "depends on the price"?
I'd love a black P180, however between paying full retail price for black P180 at endpcnoise for $159.95+shipping and $100 shipped for the silver version at newegg after $25 MIR, I think the choice is clear. At the worst case you can always attempt to spray paint the silver version if you hate it that much.
PS before you start wondering, the newegg deal is dead already, the promotion ended last week I think.

First, the black and silver is apparently not a bad thing. (Seriously, my female friends think it looks better than my old Sonata). Second, this is an entirely personal choice-is black worth £15 to you? (My personal trick for justifying something, find something more expensive that you spend money on and say, well, if that's worth it then...)

It's the SPCR model. I'm not sure on this one yet.Al wrote:Still no SPCR version in the UK though, just plain black... am I correct?Bob_the_lost wrote:The price is aprox £100 for the silver p180 and £115 for the black one. Both values include shipping (i think). As i said, a 15% premium.
Oh, this is in the UK if you're still wondering.
