Replacement for NeoHE430

Post by Zynith » Thu Jan 04, 2007 9:57 am

It was nice while it lasted,
but my Antec NeoHE430 has gone and fried itself.
For no good reason appearantly, which makes me wonder if it's reliable in the first place :? - I got it along with my P150.

So my question is simple; which PSU should I swap it for?
Preferably same specs/efficiency and not too pricey

Just saw I can get a Seasonic S12-430 for about €70.
Anyone have any better ideas? Otherwise I'll just go for that one...

3 month warranty, what the hell? Aren't all PSUs supposed to be covered for at least one year...? IIRC the retail NeoHE now have a 5 year warranty.

Even if the store sold it to you with a very limited warranty, the PSU should still have the manufacturer's warranty from Antec regardless of the store's own terms.

Antec's AQ3 warranty means three years, not three months. FYI.

I didn't jack around with the whole RMA process. Who knows -- they might have made me ship back both the P150 and the power supply, instead of just the PSU. I just bought a Rev. A4 NeoHE 500 instead of taking the risk that Antec would keep me in limbo for months. Time will tell if I just felt like being a masochist, or whether the new revision really corrects all the old problems.
