sonoma or dothan?

i am looking at laptops for a friend, and am wondering weather it is worth getting sonoma or go for dothan?

looking at </= $1200
probably looking at integrated gfx
specs other than that are pretty flexible (as most things required, eg wifi g, CDRW/DVDrom or better) are pretty much standard

also are any particular screens (/laptop brands) which are good for bright light conditions eg outside?
