Motherboard with DVI that that can 2560x1600?
I'm building a new PC which is for non-gaming, but I do a lot of photo editing. I have an existing HP 30" Monitor with a really wide color gamut that I love, but being 5 years old, it only has DVI input (need dual-link DVI input).
For my new PC, I've been looking to built the PC around an LGA 1150 (haswell) Mini-ITX motherboard, but can't find a single motherboard that supports 2560x1600 resolution out of dual link DVI. I then looked at Micro-ATX boards and same situation.
All the motherboards I am looking at have HDMI and/or displayport that support 2560x1600, but that doesn't help me since my monitor only accepts DVI. I wanted to build a smaller PC and not have to resort to a dedicated video card just for dual link DVI. My other alternative is to buy a newer monitor that that seems foolish given this monitor works fine.
Does anyone know of a LGA 1150 Hagwell motherboard in Mini-ITX (ideally) or micro-ATX format that support dual-link DVI that will drive 2560x1600 resolution?

Wlcome to SPCR!
ASUS H97I-PLUS LGA 1150 Intel H97 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 Mini ITX Intel Motherboard
From what i recall you needed dual dvi connector to do a 2560x1600, according to the specs, seems like that, Video Ports 1 x DVI-D. From the pictures seems like that as well,
I would still confirm with an Asus CS representative to crosscheck in fact its a real dual dvi, that would support your desired 2560x1600.

Not offhand. There are active displayport to dual DVI adapters out there for $30+...reviews seem to be hit/miss.
Re: Motherboard with DVI that that can 2560x1600?
Abula: Dual link DVI is not two DVI ports. It is a single port with all 6 TMDS channels enabled instead of 3. While a single link DVI cable is obvious (it is missing pins) you can't tell as single VS dual link DVI port visually.
Re: Motherboard with DVI that that can 2560x1600?
From Asus homepage about H97I-PLUS:
- Supports HDMI with max. resolution 4096 x 2160 @ 24 Hz / 2560 x 1600 @ 60 Hz
- Supports DVI with max. resolution 1920 x 1200 @ 60 Hz
- Supports HDMI with max. resolution 4096 x 2160 @ 24 Hz / 2560 x 1600 @ 60 Hz
- Supports DVI with max. resolution 1920 x 1200 @ 60 Hz

Im sorry if me omitting the word LINK, lead you to believe i meant dual ports, i though it was clear.washu wrote:Abula: Dual link DVI is not two DVI ports. Re: Motherboard with DVI that that can 2560x1600?
In that case it's only a single link DVI. 1920x1200@60Hz is single channel, 2560x1600@60Hz is dual channel. Not the end of the world if you can use HDMI however.LongJan wrote:- Supports HDMI with max. resolution 4096 x 2160 @ 24 Hz / 2560 x 1600 @ 60 Hz

Re: Motherboard with DVI that that can 2560x1600?
My monitor doesn't support HDMI either, only DVI. I need it to be Dual Link DVI at 2560x1600.
Based on replies, looks like I'm out of luck for mobo with native dual link dvi support at the resolution I need.
I overlooked the option of using a displayport to dual link DVI adapter. Need to look into that...

Re: Motherboard with DVI that that can 2560x1600?
A DVI-HDMI-adapter might work. They are dirt cheap since DVI and HDMI are electrically compatible.
Re: Motherboard with DVI that that can 2560x1600?
HDMI and single link are electrically the same. Don't think there are HDMI to Dual Link DVI adapters that support this resolution. I think it needs to be an active adapter and the only ones I've seen are Displayport based.
