new system: AMD 3700X on MSI B450 Tomahawk
Upgrading from my 4770K. Originally I was thinking 3900X + Gigabyte x570 Master, but decided to go the lower-power (65W CPU) and fanless motherboard route. I couldn't convince myself that I really needed 12 cores or PCIe 4.0. The motherboard is pretty basic, but hopefully good enough. I'm on the box cooler for now - it's not bad, but I have a Noctua NH-D15S on order. An $80 HSF on a $100 motherboard...

I would have done the same, solid choice of parts, specially the motherboard should be able to be flashed without an older ryzen cpu.mcb wrote:Upgrading from my 4770K. Hope you share your thoughts once you get the NH-D15S, to me with dual fans is as good as it will get on air.
