New users should be allowed to post urls, the three posts limit is kinda annoying. Makes it harder to write a good message.

It was only one post before, and you could edit it to include links. Then we've been overrun by shoes (tee-hee)...

The tradeoff is whether to piss off all of the current members daily, or piss off the new members for 2-3 posts. <shrugs> Having a low post count access to urls incites a lot of spam activity.

Hi, I guess it is frustating for a new user not being able to post links etc for 3 posts. Then again 3 posts isn't many, wouldn't take 5 minutes to put three threads/posts together in the test forum and I'm sure no one would mind them there.

"The needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few or the one"
can't new posters put a space in the "www" or after the '"dot" in their links and an established members can fix it in a quote?
(or am I not supposed to say that out loud?)

Hi,
The reason for this is to make it harder for Spammers to post links. I think it is a small inconvenience; and I hope that you agree.

Based on the premise that all individuals are equal, but what's that based on?
The needs of Obama outweigh the needs of the peasants.
The needs of Wall Street outweigh the needs of main street.

I fairly certain Spock would see no logic in our greed based two party system run corpacracy.-As systems go, its about as logical as letting new members spam urls' on their first posts.
When it comes to spam on SPCR, the father of an infamous village idiot said it best, "Not gonna do it. Wouldn't be prudent."

I like the Socratic in asking why again (it gets to truth if it doesn't drive the other person mad first).
But yea, I'm no fan of the corpacracy, or of Bush (the village idiot), or of Obama, etc. I'm sure there's something I like...

This is exactly what I did for my first post. It was only a minor annoyance to whip up three test posts, so it didn't really bother me.
