They are from a pre-production server we have at work, we found they were too hot and have since changed to E5-2609 80w cpu's. They are ES's and are from about October 2011. They don't have vt-d like all other ES E5's.
Might be useful for someone on the forums here? They give a hell of a lot of performance for 115w cpu's, considerably more than a desktop 6 core overclocked to match the raw performance.
Anyone have a use for a pair of Xeon E5-2670's
