Seasonic SS-400FB APFC vs SS-400AGX APFC

No! Not another versus thread! ;)

I've read all the review articles, searched the forums, and I think I'm about to go mad.

I found two places that sell these Seasonic products for a difference of 1 dollar. I'm talking, of course, about the SuperTornado SS-400FB APFC and the SuperSilencer SS-400AGX APFC.

The latter drive (SS-400AGX APFC) has been reviewed and is in the #1 position in the SPCR 400W+ category. However, I was curious if the SS-400FB APFC performs as well as its younger siblings, including most notably the SS-300FB APFC, which as you know is in the #1 spot for SPCR 300W+. That means I'd get the SS-400FB APFC.

The SS-400FB APFC is no where to be found in the 400W+ category? Why is this the case?

More importantly, you should decide whether your particular system design would merit the pass-through ventilation of the silencer, or the serve-some-function-as-case-fan design of the 120mm tornado.

Isn't it the Silencer that serves more of a function as a 'case fan' than the Tornado?

Truth be told I'm not sure how either would really affect my system temps. I'm going to have an SLK7000AMB w/ 120mm fans and grills removed plus a decent HS w/ an 80mm Panaflo.

While I'm here, I might as well mention that I'm feeling guilty as hell about buying a PSU that costs more than any case+PSU that I've ever, ever bought. :/
