Anandtech just reviewed the new Seasonic PSU line called PRIME Titanium. Tested units: 650W, 750W, and 850W.

Those are the fan curves at 40-47°C of the 650W and 850W as recorded by THG:

Albeit apparently the 650W fan tops under 700rpm while the 850W one tops over 1200rpm, Fylladitakis reported the 650W as way louder than the 850W.
Well, probably I'm biased/prejudiced against him, but frankly I don't trust a guy who I was told doesn't even own the test equipment he used.

I'm looking at 400-500W range, which should be about the average for your highest tdp single gpu (like 1080 Ti) coupled with overclocked high end cpus:
650W model drops from starting 490 rpm to 400 rpm @ 400W, and rises back to 490 rpm @ 500W <- wtf?
850W model remains at 420 rpm up to 400W, but rises to 540 rpm @ 500W,
My conclusion from this: wtf?
850W seems to be a tiny bit quieter below 400W range. But right after that it starts spinning up a little faster than the 650, which actually did the opposite in this scenario. Interesting, but probably doesn't mean anything, it's a synthetic test.
However in both cases these are very acceptable rpm/acoustics, but I'm just looking for a better pick for my ~500W system. In the end it really doesn't matter at all since it will be way better than my current psu, and the gpu will remain the most loud component in my, and likely most other systems anyway. Now when I think about it, even at low profile gaming, lowest rpm on the gpu fans are around 800, and there's 3 of them, and they're smaller, so, yeah. I'm really nitpicking here, but I just find it interesting how the fan profiles are strangely different on these models.
