interesting review and results,

still the "cu" is outselling the "AlCu" and I dont see that changing,

That's really puzzling how ~300g less of a HS can cool a CPU more. I wonder if it'd be the same with Folding and/or CPUBurn?

They mentioned the copper version had a defective spirng and they tried to rectify the spring by increasing the tension. With the copper version being heavier it could of had a 'loose' contact when hung on the motherboard.

I doubt the Hybrid version performs better than the all copper version. It's a fact that copper conducts heat better than aluminium. I read other reviews where they had the copper version edging ahead of the AlCu but only about 2oC.

Ive seen a couple of reviews that say the all copper version is between 4-6degrees cooler.

The difference in that review is probably based on the fan, but I couldn't say for sure.

At any rate, MikeC already ran both HS through their paces and the CU kicked the AlCu to the curb. His methodology is the best I've seen, since he tests each HS with the same fan at 3 voltages. The results are much more reliable.

But, then, there's always the brand new CNPS7000Cu and its little sister, 7000AlCu! I'd love to see MikeC put these two to the test as well!

Mike reviewed the 6500's not the 7000's that T ter Berg is refering to.

I have the all copper Zalman 7000. It installed quite easily. I can move it slightly if I turn it. Probably a millimeter or two, but it seems like it's on okay. I e-mailed Zalman about it, and a guy named Don told me as long as it's over the CPU, it should be fine. Even if it can move slightly. I don't know wether to take his word or not. The temps on my rig seemed okay, but since my hard drive broke, I did not have long to test it.
I was going to get another for a friend's rig, maybe I'll get the bimetal one instead.
The copper one is a beautiful heatsink, had no trouble fitting on my abit max 2 ver. 2 board, and the fan is QUIET!

Ofcourse the cu is better than the alcu, and every review I have read have come to this conclusion. I have the 7000cu myself and I'm most impressed, especially with the noise level, which is VERY low.
