Having recently replaced my Thermalright Ultra-120 for a Thermalright Ultra Extreme Rev. C i used the thermal paste included with the cooler (applied thin layer to both heat spreader on CPU and heatsink, as instructed with the cooler). On the Ultra-120 I used AC5 applied as instructed by Arctic Silver website (horisontal line).
My temps are the same as before:
Idle:
36/ 29/ 32/ 36
Intel Burntest x5:
59/ 52/ 53/ 51
Not too bad I guess, maybe I just expected more from the TRUE Rev. C.
I wondering if I use try to reapply the heatsink using another paste (I have AC5, AC Ceramique and the Thermalright Chill factor)?
Thanks in advance
