Can any cooler designed for socket 1156 be used for 1155?

If so then why don't the cooler manufacturer websites state this? Browsing the Scythe web pages they don't even seem to acknowledge the existence of socket 1155 CPUs and these have been out for about 3 months already haven't they? The recall was announced on Jan 31.

I have read that the mounting for 1155 and 1156 are the same. The CPU hot spots they are designed for might be different.

Best thing to do is to send them an email. Scythe's US website always seems to be months and months behind reality. But I have found their email support fairly prompt. Ask the question and they will answer it. Maybe you can even post their response here.

Go to Scythe's global site.

I would have guessed that no statement about 1155 means they consider them equivalent.
