Panaflo VS. Vantec Stealth
How do these fans really compare in real life. I have a medium flow panaflo right now that works farely well and I like it because there are no strange noises coming from it just air.
these are both new posts, but here's a comparison that includes a Vantec Stealth.

4th Paragraph down has some results of the Vantec in the comparison.

Yup, I use them quite often...
The one thing I found was, after 24x7 operation for few month, 2 of 7 vantechs are starting to make much more noise than Panaflo batch I had. (I swear it was quieter around same airflow probably higher than what was tested...) Well those that doesn't need speed sensing are now getting panaflo since it is MUCH cheaper. The crucial ones that need speed sensing was using vantech... Now I am on peltier water cooled setup and can careless about case fan noise... Those 120mm definitely do make low level noise I can't seem to get rid of... over all as quiet as before but much lower system temp while acting as furnace for room.
(BTW, I fan modded freaking meanwell PSU - for peltier - which had 60mm 21CFM(!!) sunon with panflo and can't be happier)
Surprisingly, my recent test with sunon 80mm in general (23-29 cfm variety) showed it to be decent competition when undervolted. (which most of high quality case seems to carry)

I have one Vantec Stealth and two Panaflo's (both running full tilt until I make the 7V connector). My mobo, an ASUS A7V333-X, has Q-Fan, which essentially controls fan speed depending on temperature. It needs the tach pin in order to work, so I bought the Vantec and put it on my CPU, and it never gets higher than 2500rpm, and is pretty quiet. The processor, an Athlon XP 1700+, runs around 35 degC, or 2 degC above the mobo itself.
To second what everyone is saying, if you need the third pin, then get the Stealth (unless Panaflo come out with a low noise version with the tach pin).
